Hey Nina. Sorry about the loss of the loufa. I hope the next do better. Ann and I had always planted the seeds outside in a raised bed or along a fence line. We hadn't ever started them early in a greenhouse so we were watching how it worked for you closely. We usually plant them in mid May and they start slow but really take off as the weather gets hot. Usually our beds are a mix of topsoil and potting soil even though one we planted along a wire fence in native soil took off and ran the wires beautifully. (I enjoy them for their beautiful yellow blooms as much as anything) plus they really draw the pollinators. We have an abundance of seeds and you are welcome to more if things don't go well. Practice makes perfect and you seem to be someone who'll keep on til you get it right. You and Josh have a wonderful weekend. ~ Terry

Well it certainly sounds like I was way too gung-ho on starting them! I do think the next batch will do much better, as I do plan on starting them outside this time. It's always an experiment! Thankyou so much for the tips. I'm so excited to have a new plant!

Nina, your garden looks like it is coming along really well. I have managed to get some seeds in the ground this past week and just in time for a nice shower last night. Now if it would just warm up some I will get some more planting done., You guys are well ahead of us here in Central Illinois. Hope you have a great harvest and maybe some cooking videos. You are sure busy with all your planting and making videos. You both deserve a well earned vacation. 😊

I got some Burpee small pumpkin seeds this year. I'll hold off to mid to late July before planting, I want pumpkins late Oct. to early Nov. In time for Halloween and Thanksgiving. Here in central NC, the pumpkins, if planted earlier, won't last that long in the late summer heat.

Nina your Squash will grow all over that greenhouse and hold it down , You can actually plant others around it as support , A squash is like a creeping charlie will bond to anything , I grow my spagetti squash on a 12 ft ladder uses less ground space with massive yellow flowers .

Love the gardening tips and motivational inspiration. On the other hand, excuse me for saying so, but, I've noticed your lil red wagon in your videos, always setting with it's tongue in the dirt. Just a suggestion: To preserve the longevity of it's life and preventing premature rust issues, you could prop the tongue up, via a couple of bricks, cinder block etc., in order to get it off the ground and high enough to get water to drain out th back. Also, a small rock, stick etc.. to slightly elevate the tailgate, will insure even better drainage. 😉👍 As I'll continue to watch your videos, it would be so satisfying to see her repositioned in better form in upcoming scenes (and yes, I'm still talking about the wagon)!😅 👀 🤣 If you leave it as is, you could one day write a song about her, with Miranda Lambert's approval, of course... here it goes... 🎶 You can't ride in my lil red wagon, the bottom rusted out and the tounge' still draggin'. See ya in the garden! 😁 👋😉

I saw the Hisea. I wonder if the $100 greenhouse would be good for charging a solar generator out of harms way in cloudy, raining days? Slow charge but still dry.

Take a couple metal clothes hangars and bend them straight with pliers or needle noses. Use the cutting part of the needle noses to cut 12 inch pieces off the hangars . Bend them into square upside down 'u' shapes Use a hammer to tamp down the pieces in the corners and along the edges of your ground cover👍❤️
