Your garden is looking amazing. I love this time of year where there is something new to see almost every day. I don't have the budget to plant tulips every year but I love seeing them in other people's gardens, and my favourite in your garden is the frilled petal variety. Your peony collection is impressive!

Hi Maria, thank you so much. This is amazing time of the year when all the lovely plants start blooming one after another. I can understand budget, tulips are expensive, specially they are not reliably coming back every year. We treat them as annual. I am able to get them because here in the EU they are much more affordable. It has been few years that I haven’t been able to plant them as well. I am so glad you are enjoying them in my garden🌺🌺🌺❤️🌺😊😊

Beautiful blooms everywhere! gorgeous peonies & tulips.btw the name of the plant is "monnaie du pape" (lunaria annua or lunaire) a very interesting plant that appears in spring bearing mauve-purple flowers then changes when generating seeds (transparent pearly disques containing dark seeds) which will self seed or used in dry flower bouquets...also the climing rose on the pergola is doing well.🥀🌺🌻🌷🌹🏵

Hi Nvart! To me, there is nothing more beautiful than a peony flower and you have such a nice collection. They are so long living. I actually have one that my mother gave to me that is around 65 years old.

Hi Marilyn, peonies are one of my very favorite plants, and I can not imagine spring without them. O my gosh, I was emotional when I red your message about your peony, that’s so amazing. I am sure it’s a very special plant in your garden and very mature😊 Thank you for sharing❤️❤️❤️ May be you could post the picture, I would love to see it😊😊

Nvart❤️❤️❤️🌺🌺🌺

Nvart your garden is so beautiful.Do you have to stake your peonies. Also do you dig up your tulips when they are finished to plant other plants
@gardeningwithnvart7 ай бұрын
Hi Martha, thank you, great question. I don’t stake them until I see them flop. Last three days has been 40mph wind, usually when this happens I go out and check them, then I stake them accordingly. Most of my peonies are ITOH or tree peonies and they don’t require staking. Herbaceous peonies intend to flop the most, therefor I stake the stems that need staking but not the entier bush. I am so happy I captured the garden before the wind. For the tulips, I usually just leave them. This year I am going to dig them out. I don’t like te red ones( not because of the color but how they look) , I am going to discard them but the rest of it I would like to dry and store them to be planted in the fall. This is going to be an experiment, I am interested to see if they will grow as good as the first year. Nvart

@@gardeningwithnvart Thank you for your answers. One more question I forgot to ask is how often do you water your boxwoods in the containers. I have three that I just put in pots and not sure how often they need watered. Mine will be under a porch so won’t get any rain. Also do you do anything to protect them from dying in the winter and do you still water them. Thank you again. Just love your garden. ❤️❤️❤️
@gardeningwithnvart6 ай бұрын
Hi dear Martha, thank you for your message❤️ For the boxwoods, I would recommend to keep them moist but not wet. In my experience boxwoods like to stay moist but on a dry side. I water my boxwoods when I see that top of the soil looks dry. Always think that the bottom will be more moist, so I lightly sprinkle the top of the soil. Usually I don’t like deep watering, I like consistant watering. It works well for me, and for most of my plants. I would recommend to check the soil. As for the winter protection, I am gardening in zone 8b, so for me I don’t need to protect them. If you are getting lots of snow, protecting is better because the snow is always hard on boxwood. Also, I would look for hardy varieties of boxwood if your weather is harsh. Boxwood in the containers, you could always move in to the garage. Hope this helps, let me know if you have any other questions. Have a great day❤️❤️🌺🌺
