I loved all of it but wish they could leave the leaves on the ground around the trees until spring. Leaf litter is important winter cover for so many pollinators. We started leaving the leaves in the beds on our property and the difference in the amount of pollinators in the last two seasons has been noticable.

I applaud your dedication to Dahlias, I just can't, I skipped them this season, there's bunch of Zinnias to choose from, I found out they last longer as cut flowers then Dahlias and it's not even comperable how much less work Zinnias are. And that's a huge patch of Dahlias you have, that's a big job both spring and fall time.

Floret recommends leaving the soil on tubers if you are storing them undivided - that way they don’t shrink. If you decide to rinse, they need to be divided for storing during the winter.
