The kitchen garden definitely needed that really yellow hosta for a bright accent. They come in so many different colors now that they are a real joy to use as accent plants. They don't have to be all piled together to make a statement.

@@feliciacardone8900 we got the supplies at the hardware store but I think if you check out Home Depot they have the brown dip tubing with holes along it, and ask them to help you with the connections. I love the timer that goes on when the sun comes up. As for the pots, we put a "T" in the hose so another hose could go into the pot and two emitters - one of each side of the pot, that is working fine. My pots are 20 inches wide.

Then one spring I noticed in one area that they had buit a very long stone wall.Someone rich had bought a huge piece of land and the lupins had disappeared. Unless they were growing on the other side of the wall. The property was near the sea.

@@Bamboo4U2 I "buried" some lupine seeds with my uncle (with permission from my aunt, of course) as a final gotcha. He would (playfully?) argue the pronunciation with me. Laura, Aaron, and crew, thank you so much for the inspiration you bring to so many people. I "found" you last year when the school I work at closed down because of Covid. You brought so much inspiration and motivation back to me that it got me through a REALLY rough time in my life. Last year my husband and I "took back" a flowerbed on the west side of our house that was completely lost to grass and weeds as tall as I am. This year, all but one flowerbed on our property looks amazing because of the inspiration and guidance you've given us. We planted a tree in memory of my sister (only 53 years old!) who we lost in November and a clematis in memory of my mother-in-law who we lost in March. In a few weeks we will be taking back the last flowerbed on our property that has been lost to weeds. I am so looking forward to having them all done and looking so nice. We get compliments from our neighbors all the time and it brings me such joy. Thank you for all you do and letting us watch and gain knowledge. I truly appreciate you.

OHHHHH THE LUPINES.....Mouth dropping. Hmmm.... What can I pull outta my yard to add one? LOL. Laura, when you told us a while back to "out" the plants that don't make us happy, you freed me in my garden to really rate each of my plants. I have been able to remove some plants that don't thrill me anymore without a backwards glance. I don't miss them at all, and this year I've got empty spaces to fill with new and exciting perennials. Today's video was so wonderful - detailing how you debate empty space, how you plan, and shift your new and old plants is so inspiring. I loved that you moved the heaucheras to their new place with the hydrangeas (it was a surprising "Ah-ha!" moment to me), and how you added in some showy hostas near to your kitchen (you taught me that considering views DO help the decision process for plantings, not just empty space!). I especially loved that you beat back the aggressive anemone lovelies, and yet reposition the darling pink dicentra up into the front for special viewing space. Thank you for letting us into your creative mind and heart. You're the best.

wow, had a little garden envy today until i realized i just can't maintain all of that! fortunately, i can watch your videos anytime to get my fix everything is coming together so beautifully, your eye for layers and texture and colors is just perfect! i'm loving those new pinks and purples!! hopefully i can get my hands on some next year, wowsers! love Benjamin playing with the empty cans - we saved empty yogurt cups for the grands and they made for great stacking games and imaginative designs...he's a good helper! what a nice day just working around your place - have a great day, everyone! thanks for the video!!

Yes, it has a taproot. As soon as I saw the lupine, looked up info on it. Must put that into my garden

The lupine are gorgeous! I have not had good luck with transplants returning. I used to have a field of it, so it’s not my soil. I do know that they have a tap root and do not take transplant well! I look forward to seeing if yours return. 🌺🌼🌸💚

So much fun to watch! Laura you need to design a stroller with a compartment that holds a watering can. I'm positive it would be a big hit! LOL

One day maybe you can do a video tour of just your boxwoods and all the different varieties you have. It would help me pick some out for my new garden thanks
