OMG, I love your video's. Just found you today. My husband and I are in our 70's, and have been gardening, in ground, for 30 plus years, but last year, decided it was getting too hard for us and we got some raised beds. Loved them so much last year, so this year, we added 5 more! Thank you so much for all of your tips on the types of herbs to plant with our veggies, I never would have thought to do that. Love your web site. Thank you!

Thank you for all the wonderful tips. I just started my first vegetable garden and is in individual pots. Getting the feel for it. Been dealing with some pests. Lost my cucumbers apparently due to the change in weather here in Northern Virginia. Now black bugs on my zucchini. But got beautiful paris lettuces, radiches and green beans. Taking notes from your lovely and informative videos. Thank you!

We have a quadruplet garden. In front of our 10 x 10 greenhouse, we have 4 raised beds that each 4 x 4 with a path between them. The path leads you into the greenhouse through double doors framed in wood, and we have three raised beds in the greenhouse. The back set of double doors lead into the backyard highlighted by a pink honeysuckle tree. Thank you, Nicole, for sharing your design ideas. I love your work!

Thanks for the designs. You should do a video on plant placement within one or two of these bed designs. I’m struggling to place wide plants and tall plants that will produce shade. I sort of live in a little valley so light can be at a premium.

My major issues are neighborhood cats plus we have a large male dog along with bermuda grass. I went raised due to contaminated soil from the animals. Wicking barrels seem to help battle the grass except they are aim level for the dog. I can have zero soil exposed. I have mint plants at 4 locations. I use large pipe pieces to raise all containers other than half barrels. I use all trimmed branches that are bendable to bend over containers. Have wire over some areas. Pathways are forever having land mines. I have hog panels above the half barrels that does keep dog jumping over them. I am going to try planting catnip in another area of the yard to hopefully draw cats to that area. I uses to keep straw in my pathways over cardboard and I tried eliminating straw but cats still poop. For the winter I cut branches and laid them in the pathways which helps but not for easy working access. Chopped banana peels works well for 1 day along with peppermint oil sprayed around everything. Cage everything? I welcome all ideas.

I just found your channel tonight and have watched a few of your videos. I really enjoyed this one. I started my garden as a border garden and I really expanded on it in 2023 so now I have 9 raised galvanized beds. I live in SW Florida so I garden year-round. I do all the gardening and heavy lifting myself. I have tropical trees bananas, papayas, pineapples galore, a lemon tree, blueberry and strawberry plants, vegetables and herbs. You are so right when you build an esthetically pleasing garden space you really enjoy being outside in it.

I have a 24 ft gravel circle surrounded by rosemary. 2 entrances one with a metal arch and the other flanked with small Cyprus trees. I was thinking about a small fruit tree in the middle just like I in see your design. Are the other areas that you drew out raised beds or in the ground matching the shape of circle? I'm trying to do mostly raised as gophers have become a horrible problem. Any suggestions? I bought some of those oblong metal beds and was thinking a flower shape might be fun. Thanks! Just found you. Love your content!

Welcome to Gardenary! I love using raised beds and then surrounding the entire space with in-ground beds for flowers/native plants. For gophers, I'd put hardware cloth at the bottom of raised beds

I need help with design of my garden. I have a 100 x 50 space with other 50 raised beds and I want to do veggies and flowers but don’t want “traditional rows” but a serene space but one that’s still functional. Is this work you would help with? If so, how do I reach out? Thanks

I just stumbled across your content on KZbin this morning and wish I had 5 years ago. Iv created my whole garden with hoops, boxes, panels and rows. Now I’m gonna use your suggestions first plant combos for cool and warm season garden crops. I’m so excited I found you when I did. I’m not an expert, I’m just inspired. Thank you for sharing your content. As soon as I get the money I’m ordering your book. I still struggle with what to plant together. As you can imagine, this has been a huge help.

I love how you explain these designs. Now I want to go out and redesign my garden beds. I have a design system right now that I call "hodge podge". It started very small and I just kept adding on every year like a backwoods cabin, haha! Just a conglomeration of raised beds of different sizes and pots large and small.... it's kind of random. I particularly love the circular trio which would look amazing in the center of the L-shaped potager if you had a big enough space. I have the space to do it, but I also have an incline that limits my space. But dreaming now and feeling inspired - thank you!

LET'S GO!! Nicole, thank you for doing this. I have been a teacher and general contractor since 1996; and now it's time to pivot . As a kid, my family had veggie gardens, trees to eat from, and chickens; so being able to eat from the garden is part of who I am. I am also inspired by the teacher who has done your certification course and now consults and does installs etc. I have much to learn and much to pass on to my children. BTW You are a Proverbs 31 Woman!

I have a huge space in my yard, a back corner, that I'm working on building a garden in. Designing the space for maximum growing space is a challenge because i have a tree line on 2 sides plus a barn thats on 2 other sides. It gets good sunlight on most of it. However, i have to be mindful of tree roots and some spaces i have to go up because of a concrete pad thats underneath a ton of soil. Plus, i need to safeguard any way i can from critters, including ones that like tunneling. This helps give me some design ideas. I have about 6 to 800 square feet in just this space alone.

Do you have a grape arbor design?
@ruthcalsada14407 ай бұрын
I should have given more info. A square grape arbor design with seating/plant space for shade loving plants underneath. 8x8 would work in my space.😊
