Frances Tophill visits the gardens of the oldest Franciscan friary in Britain, where all the plants are grown for a practical purpose.
Nick Bailey travels to Newcastle to celebrate chrysanthemums, and there's a man growing a plethora of fruit and veg on a rooftop car park in Stockport.

F1 Tetsukabuto squashes will grow well even in duller weather. They keep 12 months! Very hard skin. I got 230 kg on 25 sq metres this year. (NE france, weather similar to UK). I get seeds from kcb-samen -Switzerland). They're a very relaible cropper.

Happy to see the new planting rows are perpendicular to the water flow. If still too wet u may want to put a swale above the new rows and directed to shunting water away from the barn side. Really love seeing how you have the kids working and yet allowing them plenty of fun. They will benefit from this when they are older.

Worried about your lovely dog. Looking quite thin, with ribs showing quite a bit. Without its fur, it would look a lot thinner. Not a criticism, just saying., as know you love your dogs. It looks quite young, so gather its still getting two meals a day. Love your program.
