Arborist wood chips - how deep would you place them if you wanted to create a new bed and when would it be okay to plant in it?

There are too many variables to answer you accurately in this format. Talk with your local County Extension Agent. Describe your land, what’s on the surface now, what you want to grow. Describe how many hours of sun/shade this area gets. You need to have a conversation with an educated person who knows your specific climate. They will be able to advise you best. Look up your County Extension Agent, and give them a phone call to find out when you can go meet with them in person.
