Gigantic mass of incomprehensible hitboxes that push you all around and deal passive damage because halfway through development they noticed that the boss basically cannot damage you if you slap its ass. Pure DPS/Vitality check. Dodging is a stroke of luck, nothing to do with skill. Half the time I literally do not bother dodging at all and still end the fight using only like 5 vials.

Abhorrent and Loran Darkbeast don't have quite the same elemental advantage as the fire beasts, but bolt is still pretty strong against most beasts, and both are quite aggressive and mobile once they get charged up. Had the fire beasts not been there, they both would have been in contention.

I am still amazed how many optional, easily missable bosses and enemies there are in Bloodborne. You could play the game from start to finish, and never see any of them (bar the beggar turned beast) untill you start going in the chalice dungeons. I always hoped Ds3 would use such an idea with a twist of the great hollow tree from ds1, coming across lost forgotten civilisations, untill you came across armor and weapons from ds1, but yeah... The idea was there, its just that people didnt like it as much in Bloodborne. But you can admit its kinda amazing how all this content was there.

I had never realized Lawrence and the Watchdog are so similar... The watchdog's name implies service to the pthumerian rulers or the Great Ones, and Lawrence became what we see after memorizing the beast's embrace rune (and presumably embibing huge quantities of Ebrietas blood).... If we assume that the warchdogs are also linked to beast's embrace, that may mean that they were pthumerians once. And going down this rabbit hole one might further speculate that fire, which scares beasts, symbolizes knowledge and/or awareness. Beasts are scared of it as it's untithetical to their nature (the darkness within the soul of man, and and low awareness). But those who embrace the beast do not have to fear the knowledge of their condition, and can thus use fire to their advantage?
