What beautiful, healthy torts! Thank you for giving them their new homes and the best of chances; I know how it feels to have to give up your loved ones that way; for Paul, there must be some consolation in knowing that they'll be loved, respected and allowed to grow in safety. That new pen was fantastic; I had no idea there was a species of tortoise that'd blow up like that to cram themselves in rock crevices (I see Chuckwallah's do that pretty often out where I live, though.)

2:07 Crhis: *talking about the sulcatas* The sulcatas: *trying to escape* 😂 I don't have a giant tortoise, I actually have a Red foot, and she also has her enclosure outside in our backyard because we live in the tropics. My father based her enclosure on the ones you have there. I had just gotten her (her previous owner couldn't take care of her anymore) when he suddenly came home with a bunch of wooden planks. When I asked, he said, "I saw this guy on KZbin with a bunch of tortoises. I'm going to make the same boxes he has." You were "the guy with a bunch of tortoises" 😂

It was actually too large. I tend to go too big sometimes. It came almost impossible to find them all and caused a lot of stress. So, it’s now used for our Tunisian tortoises because they are a more active species that doesn’t require rock crevices.

FYI, pressure treated wood can be toxic. The most common pesticide used in pressure treated wood is chromated copper arsenate (CCA), which is arsenic, which deters pests and fungi to preserve the wood.

Exactly, which does not affect the tortoises in any way. Unless an animal were to try to consume the wood. In the case of tortoises, that’s not something they do. Thanks for the input.
