I should have gotten n iharvest. I have two Gardyn and nothing but serious problems. Cracked tubing that ruined my floor, faulty towers that they have sent me parts to add to the original unit to make it work, pump broke and the second unit pump is about to break. I also can’t access the second Gardyn on the app. I am very unhappy. My aero Garden has a great app and you can access from the unit as well but you can’t grow as much.

Hello! I found your review for the Gardyn and the iHarvest a while back and you convinced me to invest. I ended up getting the Gardyn 1.0 when they were on super sale. I love to watch my gardyn grow and I am finally able to start harvesting for salads. I was wondering you have a link to Maxigro, is this what you use for all of your gardyn nutrients? I read people's comments back and forth that it should only be used for sprouts then to move on to maxi bloom. I am confused. I did purchase a bag of maxigro but have up until now only used the Gardyn nutrients (I just did my first refresh last weekend). thanks for any answers!

Hi there, I have the link to MaxiGro I use in the description box of this video (green bag). I use Gardyn nutrients until it runs out, then switch over to MaxiGro. In fact, I use MaxiGro for all my hydroponic systems from iHarvest, Gardyn to the Aerogarden. It works just as well. I only mix in half of the Maxibloom when I was growing a full tower of flowers. Only use it when the plants are about to produce flowers. Good luck!

Hi there! I have a question. I'm in a smaller apartment. My hesitation is about the lights. They look SO bright. This would be right in my living room/dining room area (they're combined). Does the bright light ever bother you or your family, or has it been ok for you?
@plant4table
@plant4table Жыл бұрын
I have 2 in my living room/formal dining room and we are not bothered by it. We don't even need to turn the light in the living room on most of the time and I like the ambience giving off from the Gardyn's light. Unless you put the Gardyn on the same wall of your tv, I don't think it is an issue. The light beams at the plants, not toward you. Hope this helps.

I like to get seeds from Johnny, quality seeds but that can get expensive, unless they carry some unique varieties that other suppliers don't sell. I also shop from Harris Seeds and Eden Brothers. For nutrient, I use MaxiGro and add in MaxiBloom if I'm trying to get them to flower. I had the 2.0 for less than 6 months before I moved. Therefore I didn't have a chance to update. Working on my new grow room, will post a video soon on that.

@plant4table
@plant4table 2 жыл бұрын
I did considered Lettuce Grow, but I don't like the curvy bottom design. Also, I prefer a system that I can put against the wall. With Lettuce Grow, I can't see all my plants because of the 360 degree design. Another factor is that the distance between the bottom of the plants and the ring light seems to be short, I might be wrong though.

Is the Harvest the same amount of profit as gardyn?
@plant4table
@plant4table 2 жыл бұрын
The production is the same because they both have the same capacity of 30 slots. It comes down to the price of the unit. Gardyn and iHarvest are about $50- $75 difference, but again, during Christmas sale,Gardyn has better sale.

I have mine for 2 years, and they still work fine. I can't answer whether it will last for 5 years or not. If certain part stops working, you can contact Gardyn and buy replacement parts from them. I have not done that but I know others have.

🌱🌺🌻Hello! Thank you for your very informative and helpful videos. As a beginner user of the Gardyn 2.0 system, I have watched your videos, and rewatched a few more. Which type of plant food do you recommend for the Gardyn 2.0 system other than using Gardyn's proprietary plant food? Do you also use the Gardyn's nursery tray or did you devise your own? If you devised your own, I would be interested in learning from you as the tray is $69.99.
@plant4table
@plant4table 2 жыл бұрын
Hi, thanks for watching. I recommend just put some water into plastic take out box and use it as your nursery. Or even a bowl, a plate, anything. No need to pay for a fancy tray. I use MaxiGro for all of my hydroponic system. It is the same performance as the one from Gardyn. Even Gardyn said in one of their post that MaxiGro is similar to theirs.

I prefer iHarvest to grow cucumbers because they have huge roots. Other than that, Gardyn grows eggplants and bush beans just as well. Note: other people grow cucumbers in Gardyn and they seem to do fine. You just need to trim the roots often.

Thanks for doing such a good job in your videos. I learn something every time I watch one. I am looking to expand my farm and would like some help. I currently have a 9-pod and 2 6-pod aerogardens. I have noticed that oftentimes I can't utilize all the ports for the pods. With tomatoes, peppers, and lettuce I am currently utilizing 9 pods and am experiencing some overcrowding with peppers and tomatoes. I am considering purchasing a gardyn system, but I am concerned that 30 plants might be overwhelming. I have limited space and lots of desire. Do I need to plan better to utilize my space, or should I expand? Thanks for any advice you can give me.
@plant4table
@plant4table 2 жыл бұрын
I prefer Gardyn's vertical design over AG for that reason. I can't utilize all of the slots in AG even when growing lettuces. I like the fact that each of the spot in Gardyn tilt in a slight angle so that all space can be filled without compromising the light exposure. For the peppers and tomatoes, I plant them at the top of the Gardyn so they have space to grow vertically. I have all 30 spots mixed among herbs, lettuces, tomatoes and peppers, no issue.

@plant4table

Some of the lettuce might have bitter taste due to how the variety tastes. For example, endive is bitter itself. However, if your butter lettuce is bitter before it bolt, my guess is due to the temperature or the water that you use. Im just guessing.
