Give it a rest ffs, all this talk about why Tyson lost, from showboating to shambolic corner advice to boxing on the back foot. How about talking about why Usyk won and actually acknowledging that the better man won? He forced him on to the back foot, controlled the distance and made him fight his fight. Every time he hit him clean with the left hand there was a reaction, he obviously punches hard enough to make opponents not try to bully him and back him up. We are probably going to have to suffer video after video of what Tyson needs to do to win the rematch, all these so called experts talking about him fighting on the front foot and pressuring Usyk like its an easy thing to do. He was knocked down and beat up by a average cruiser weight in Steve Cunningham. He was nearly stopped in two fights (1st and 3rd) by a very poor technical fighter, Deontay Wilder (the Joseph Parker fight proves this). He was hit more times by power shots in this one fight by Usyk, than both the Joshua fights. He was knocked down by a first fight novice in Francis Nganou. He won 4-6 Usyk won the 7th going away smoked him in the 8th took a piece of his soul in the 9th won 10-11 and the 12th was close. Idk how anyone could score the first 3 for fury. Usyk outlanded him numerically and with quality. People are scoring blocked shots and wiffs over clean work. Also did you see the angle of the ref getting in the way of Usyk in the 9th? He should have either started the count as soon as the first time fury hit the ropes or let Usyk throw that last shot. Insane between the ref and judges Usyk was one round away from being robbed If I was on Usyks team I’d tell him to retire after seeing the way they scored and refer the fight and now the insane copes people are making basically giving the judges a pass. They’ll rob him 100% in the rematch if it’s the same or closer. Imagine winning 8-9 rounds with a knockdown and people saying it’s a close fight.

Talksport and everyone associated with promoting these fights are pushing the narrative that it was super close - it wasn't. It was 5-2 (at best, if not 4-3) to Fury after 7 rounds and then Usyk won every single round after that. That makes it 7 rounds to 5 with the knockdown putting Usyk 3 points ahead (5 points ahead on some peoples' scorecards). The only people saying it was close are Fury fanboys and those tasked with ensuring there is interest in the 2nd fight. I expect the outcome to be the same when they get into the ring again - much like Usyk vs AJ II. As for the showboating excuses - that's complete b*ll*cks. Again you're trying to make it seem like Fury has a chance in the rematch - he doesn't.

Tyson fury was showboating when he was caught with punches, or trapped in the corners, to confuse Usyk, then he'd try and catch usyk with something coming of the showboating. Ali and roy jones used the same tactics, so the showboating has a reason. It also slows the pace of the fight down if done correctly, at the right times.
@michaelb23886 ай бұрын
Fury's showboating was a tactic in response to being confronted by a very skilled boxer in better condition who wasn't going to let him rest for a second. It was partly nerves and partly an attempt to get into Usyk's head, but it didn't work.

What lost it for Fury was his lack of adaptation , he had a few great rounds throwing the uppercut, at times Usyk didn't know if it was hitting him head or body, so Fury had great success, trouble is he didn't change it and Usyk timed his movement when he threw it , Fury literally needs to fight different each round, if you do the same thing to Usyk within a couple of rounds he times it perfectly

Agree with most of the comments on here. I had Usyk the first 3, Fury winning 4, 5, 6 and maybe 7 - he was boxing very well and Usyk was struggling at times. However those big punches to the nose & head in the 7th turned the fight in Usyk’s favour and he won every round from there. No-one has mentioned the first big punch on the ropes where Fury appears to look up, he must have blacked out. Rarely do you see someone hit so many times (15+) without defending themselves and the referee not stopping the fight. Dangerous at any weight but particularly at Heavyweight, could have been a horrible ending. Would have been a horrible stoppage 🤔 load of rubbish. Bad refereeing but equally the corner should have thrown the towel.

Rds 1,2,8,9,10,11 was definitely Usyk Rds 4,5,6 was definitely Fury. Rds 3,7,12 was close, I feel Usyk edged Rds 3 and 12 especially, 7 was a proper swing round. If score all 3 close rounds to Fury he wins 3,4,5,6,7,12. Even with that he still losses by 1 point to Usyk, even being bias to Fury he losses. I personally scored Usyk Rds 1,2,3,8,9,10,11,12. Fury Rds 4,5,6,7. I had it 116-111 Usyk I can see 115-112 to Usyk at best for Fury. 114-113 to Usyk is to much of a stretch and I have to question bias for Fury. How one judge had it 114-113 to Fury Is beyond me, I can't get to that.

The 8th, was the most pivotal moment IMO, Usky left hand right on the button. Tyson nose bloody and broken. Fury struggled immensely, the tide turn for Usky. No way Tyson will be back to his best, after his last 4 gruelling fights. Plus the cut suffered against Wallen. With the fluctuation in weight affecting power resistant, it will be hard to come back strong physically and mentally. Hope I'm proven wrong, though!

It wasn't. Fury stood in the corner to land a dig on Usyk because his angles were too much. Andy Fury won 5 rounds max. It's really hard to listen to GAD, because he is utterly stupid and doesn't know sweet FA about the game. Sack him.

Fury was pressured from round 1 by Usyk with his front foot pressure and sheer punch volume. Physically and mentally he made him work harder than ever before and it showed. Fury did not lose this fight because ‘he got cocky’ or showboating etc. Usyk just outlanded him (170 punches landed, the most ever on Fury) and pushed the pace. Fury won 4/5/6 dominantly and looked to be on the way to a historic victory but his lack of discipline reared its head and Usyk found his famed ‘second wind’ and pulled away the back end of the fight, broke his nose in round 8 and then hurt him worse than he’d ever been hurt before. Just sheer brilliance from Usyk. THE MAN of this era. Iconic.

How can Gareth who was on the Fury payroll when he went on tour give a fair analysis of a close Fury fight. The man has no integrity whatsoever

Showboating is why he lost what excuse next 😭🤣🤣

Lol I think getting hit around the ring like a rag doll might be why Fury lost the fight

lol they’ve blamed John, then they blamed the showboating. Funny stuff

Not going to watch the video. Just want to say Gareth A Davies knows next to nothing about boxing.

I've watched 👀 it back a few times. Usyk won more clearly than I first thought. He definitely won 1, 2 and 3. You can also look at the punch stats, they are very clear.
