The Legends rule has had many iterations over the years. 1. Legends thru Ice Age - If you cast a Legendary permanent that was already on the battlefield under any player's control, it went right into the graveyard. All Legends were restricted (only one copy per deck) 2. Ice Age thru Champions of Kamigawa - Same, but Legends no longer restricted. 3. Champions of Kamigawa thru Magic 2014 - If you cast a Legendary permanent that's already on the battlefield, they both die. All legendary cards now doubled as removal for your opponents copies. 4. Lorwyn - Planeswalkers are introduced and get a Uniqueness Rule that mirrors the Legend Rule, but applies to any Planeswalkers with the same type, not just name. For example, Jace Beleren was played as removal for Jace the Mindsculptor. 5. Magic 2014 thru Present - Legend rule now only care if you control a copy and ignores opponents. Instead of all copes dying, you choose one to keep. 6. Ixalan - Planeswalker Uniqueness rule abolished and Legends Rule applied, all future Planeswalker will be Legendary and all existing Planeswalkers errated to be Legendary. Now allowed to control multiple versions of Jace or Chandra with different names.

I was the Lin Sivvi opponent here, gg again. Fun game, I tend to only pull out Lin Sivvi once it a while since she rarely wins without mirror entity so most games play out the same. Highly suggest her for an MTGO collection though, really fun commander and there's some other combos in the rebel toolbox.

Also fun fact that I kept spouting unnecessarily during the game, Lin Sivvi is still banned is Masques Block constructed despite the legend rule change. They even mentioned in the article that she was still too powerful for that format, even if noone played it. Tragic.

Ive realized, when the camera goes on, I get into the zone. When we were at MF Dallas, Austin was sticking it to me pretty good in the morning. We started filming in the afternoon and they got a good dose of the Commander Replay theme song. The big deal in this one actually is that opponent made a huge punt that they told me about afterwards, instead of messing around with sword on their last turn they could have just gone max pump on mirror entity and they would have had us. Something happens, camera goes on and its CR time :)

Boy that was a close game. Loved to see the hydras as well as Lin Sivvi. I think the hydra deck could perform better after you play with it a little bit more to get more comfortable with it. Also: First time I saw the lifegain on the bow being relevant ;-)

Khalni Hydra seems bad here. sure it's a hydra, but you don't get the cost-reduction from Gargos. Doubling Season seems like it could be good here, or Pir.

Build a hydra deck too, but with Vorrel as a commander. Swinging a 54/54 lifeblood hydra at my opponent with the option to sac it to a greater good is what I live for. Vorrel makes hydras soooo much more threatening

Does being mono green hold back Gargos a whole bunch?

I don't think so. Mono green is really strong to begin with, and I feel like he has most of the things you need, and anything he doesn't like trample and hex proof are easily acquired in green. This deck would probably struggle against spellslinger or combo a bit, and/or any type of mass bounce, and may also have some struggles against large fliers likes Angels or the Ur Dragon, but otherwise I think its gonna have game against a lot of decks. You can also power up the deck a bit, add crater hoof, add the green finale, and triumph of the hordes and maybe a touch more interaction and you can beef up your game against the bad matchups.

@@CommanderReplay magic is hard, man. I think the best one can do when playing a new deck, is read all the cards, most mistake taken are because miss understand of the cards.

It is will established on the channel that I do not read the cards until after things have gone wrong :) A lot of it comes down to trying to play quickly while narrating the game. Im essentially doing 2 things at once so I don't have the same level of concentration that I would if i weren't announcing.
