As someone who has a sleeveless Tegna - and who had the yarn for it, but just chose to keep it that way! - it's a very nice sleeveless garment. The sleeves also don't need any finishing, as the fabric naturally curls inwards and makes a nice finish! So feel free to try it on when you've got the body done and then see how you feel about it! (My bust is the same as yours and I just barely got started on the 3rd skein!)

Thanks for the tip! Will definitely see what I feel like when it's on my body. There's so many different shapes of tops, so i'm still trying to find what I prefer on me !

🌴☀️Sooo I’m sitting here knitting watching your podcast, and you mentioned a new to “me” designer Lydia Morrow. OMG thank you so very much for having her on your list. I don’t have an “industry shaped body” and am always lookiing for full figured designers. OH MY GAWSH did you hit the nail on the head I am so thankful. And thank you again for sharing this designer xoxo☀️🌴

@@thewoollyworker I’m working on the longest term project in my history of crochet/knitting which is over 30 yrs lol. It’s the Epicharmus by Janica York Carter (found on Expression Fiber Arts) been on my needles almost 3 years but I’m at the home stretch. Also working on Big Cozy Cardi by Drea Renee Knits. Lastly a knit knit knit project Tip Top Tank by Emily Bolduan of Maker Maker. And of course I’m knitting with you, thanks for all of your effort & keeping me company xoxo💐

Oh, I like this series really much! Good to see you :) I just bought an advent with 2 skeins and this video gave me some great inspiration. I was unsure if I would find use of 2 skeins or if I'd definitely need 3. I was wondering about the Tegna (and every other bottom-up garment with a stockinette body) if you could provisionally cast-on the body amount of stitches and first work the shoulders, neckline, sleeves and all the finishing touches and *then* cast on the lace section and continue in stockinette until your preferred length is reached or until the yarn is almost used up (leave enough to kitchener the already finished top and the live stitches from the bottom together). It sounds a bit complicated but not so much again if it's all stockinette.
@thewoollyworker
@thewoollyworker 11 ай бұрын
Ohh hope you win yarn chicken with your 2 skeins then ! And what a great point !! Although because the lace section is quite large, i wouldnt be too sure about estimating how much yarn is required to do all of it. But for other stockinette ones that are bottom up, i'll definitely do that !

Great video. Tolsta by Rebecca Clow fingering uses less than two skeins. The DK one I used 2.5 in cotton and I’m 37inch chest.

I like all your podasts, but these with special themes, are my favourite ones. It's sunday afternoon, the knit night will be tonight, I wish you all a enjoyable time. Is it an idea to record it, and make a podcast of it, so all those who would have loved to join but weren't able to, can watch it later?

hiya, the knit night is on the 29th so plenty of time to sign up to join if you want, link is in the ravelry group! At the moment there is no plan to record it, for people's privacy, but I will be making a livestream in a couple of weeks and leave that on the youtube channel for people to watch anytime ♥

Nice episode! As usual! And very helpful as others have said here. Your attention to detail on not letting who is watching guessing on what are you talking about, is impressive! I noticed you leave the pictures on the full time while you’re talking about it. What I love BTW! So if you mention something I didn’t noticed at first glance, I still have a chance for a second look. Please know that we can see your effort and all those details, and we appreciate it. Thank you!❤️

Thanks for the video- you added to my TBK list. I knit a tank this summer out of 100% silk yarn and would not recommend it. I love the feel, but it stretches out so much! I would definitely look for a mix of silk with some other fiber to give it a bit of memory.

Such a great video ! Thanks for the research and your help on Ravelry. An idea to find a very drapey summer yarn : try the merino/bambou from indie dyers. It's a very interesting substitue to silk.

I made a larger than my size tumble tee in size 5 and just had enough yarn to finish it. I think I had 6 inches left. I really want to make another in my suggested size. I just wasn’t sure if I wanted all the negative ease, I was still a fairly new knitter. Very clear pattern, good for a beginner garment knitter.

I think I'm late to the party 😊 but I would like to add to your list. I made "Amelie" by Gudrun Johnston with 1.5 skeins of Kokon Bleu tie dye fingering weight. It's navy blue with white specks, looks like little stars on blue black background. This yarn is super wash merino but it doesn't pil or split while knitting. The yarn looks expensive, of high quality. It's 400 meters per skein I made the 2nd size (S). It was stressful though..not knowing if I have enough yarn to complete the project. It didn't help that I couldn't try on because the sweater was knitted from bottom up. I made a couple of modifications (shortened the body by 1 inch and leave out the lace motif down the front. I kept the lace motif on the 2 sides of the neck, which gives a look of a collar). It turned out well with blocking, the garment was not cropped like I feared. I would prefer an extra inch in length but I'm happy with the result. With the remaining half skein, I think I will use it to make Petite Knit's Sophie scarf. I'm happy I got 2 projects out of skeins! I enjoy these types of podcasts from you. I find it useful. Thank you!

As you might know, if you have lace weight hand dyed yarn with around 1500 meters of yardage, you can hold it together like mohair and knit one garment with one skein! Or two if it is only 1200 meters and you knit long sleeves. It gives lovely color marled effect or color 🎉 speckles effect 😊
