Had it for a month now. Didn't know it had features like telling you when you are veering onto the shoulder, when stopped at a light and cars start pulling away in front of you, or when you are to close to the car ahead of you. Each one gives a different sound affect. No complaints. I feel like I upgraded my 2014 Ram to a smart car.

What about video quality, can you see car plates?
@johnsmall59012 жыл бұрын
Thank you for showing the initial mounting and the removal which leaves behind---surprise, surprise--the steel plate which was pre-installed in the mounting base. The user manual is silent on the inclusion of the second plate and doesn't tell you that the first plate is just magnetically, and not permanently, stuck inside the mounting base.

Can this be used as a rear camera?
@knoodlez2 жыл бұрын
Hi David - Rear view out the back window would be ok if you got a long enough power cable to run it through the car, or hardwired it into the rear electronics. That obviously depends on the vehicle’s setup. For a rear-facing interior camera, you probably could use this, however, I would recommend getting one specifically designed for viewing the interior.

This camera will record any accident while parking ? Or it need any additional cable to do that ?
@knoodlez Жыл бұрын
Hi Sanoop - The camera is recording the whole time the car is on. If you’re talking about the ‘Parking Guard’ feature, this will start the camera up if the car is touched with enough force to trigger the camera’s sensor (it doesn’t take much force for it to activate). So it won’t record the moment before the impact, just the time immediately after. Hope this helps!

Also, there is a menu setting in the GarminDriveApp which gives your car's bt audio connections priority over the phone app if you choose. That's good if you prioritize car audio over phone connection the dashcam. Of course the dashcam keeps recording to its chip, etc. Just no phone connection and the fancy stuff (e.g., LiveView) that you would normally be able to do on the phone.
