I've been wanting to make this review for a while and now that I am towards the end of my private pilot training and gearing up for the check ride and oral to become one. I decided to finish the review of the Garmin D2 Bravo Pilot Watch that I use for real world flying, flight simming (practicing cross country flights), and also wear during workouts/exercise, and everyday. It is an amazing watch that has a slight learning curve but once you learn its functions and how to customize it your liking it is an amazing watch. It includes GPS navigation features, tracking of all flights while wearing it, and also features from other Garmin watches such as the Fenix, Tactix, Instinct, etc...Definitely a great but for pilots like myself!!!

The display is so blue'ish. Is it just camera issue or it is such in real?

It's more of a greyish blue in real life. It shows up more blue with the camera.

what limitations does it have if any should you not have any other garmin products in the cockpit? it says it syncs to other displays, but if all i have is my phone or ipad how limited is the functionality of the watch?

I don't use Garmin Pilot or anything like that. The free Garmin Connect app that is used on your phone or tablet will automatically log your flights and the activity tracker for exercise (steps, etc...) I find that useful as well. Other than that, there are a bunch of apps that you can download that also help (sunset/sunrise time, weather METAR, etc...) I think it really only interacts with the Garmin Connect app and Garmin Pilot apps (I don't think it connects to a Garmin GPS in the cockpit)

Student pilot here as well looking at getting one of these I'm just curious I use iFly GPS will this watch work if you are not using Garmin GPS her flight software

I use it to keep track of checkpoint times while flying cross country flights. I just use the fly option and let the timer run

Still using it...love it...has survived flying, biking, jogging, and walking...battery is still the original and works great on keeping track of time on cross country flights
