Thanks for this great video for beginners. Besides your extensive knowledge and calm tone I appreciate that I don't have to suffer through an intro, heavy metal music (noise) and gangsta attitudes to learn about Garmin products. Your capacity for explaining technical issues is above average. Thanks for keeping it real, on point and mature...........just sayin

Way point at ramp, then you should always go straight out channel into lake past any structure and put a secondary waypoint. this alleviates hitting any structure or break wall when returning, especially in low light or fog conditions. You then go to secondary waypoint coming home, then you have a straight shot in to the ramp waypoint.

Which mode are you in? Navigation or fishing? Im new to Garmin as it came with my boat, I couldn't get a depth with Navigation without using a combo which I don't care for. My previous boat I had a hummingbird which I found very easy to use, thanks

I only use the Fishing chart. Not sure what you mean by “couldn’t get a depth.”

I’m trying to figure out how to use GPS on land. My brother just gave me one of these. Me and my son have built a full on pre-runner to race in the desert and a lot of those guys use fishfinders to set way points on land and use the map while racing in the desert, that’s the only I’m going to use this for

Sounds good in theory. The maps won’t be detailed on land, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work.

Are the ditch waypoints in the 93sv?
@InstinctBassin2 жыл бұрын
No those are ones I marked in Google Earth and then transferred to my 93SV. I have a video on how to do that too if you want to check it out.

Awesome video. I'm looking into getting this unit and was curious if there is an option for it to navigate me from said place back to ramp via it automatically keeping me away from areas I'm not suppose to be. For example, I went to the keys and there are many areas that are protected and would like to hit navigate to ramp or any said location and it automatically keep me on course and create a route similar to what a car gps does. Helping me stay clear of the non motorized vessel areas. Sorry for long winded question. Hopefully, you may be able to answer that question.

The Ultra units will do that when they auto build a route. You’d have to build it yourself with a non Ultra unit.
