Hi Chris, how do you rout to roads? I mean going from an as the crow flies to a follow the road(s)? Sorry if this was discussed already. We have some of these Etrex22x at work and I’m just curious.

If I was out in the bush scouting for a hunt spot, can I save my truck as a waypoint and then have the follow where I'm wandering and learn the path I'm taking relative to that waypoint? It might be bush that doesnt have a path

The biggest problem with the etrex22x is it is not Bluetooth compatible with an iPad or iPhone. So unless you have a computer with a USB port it is useless for adding GPx tracks like the TET or ACT trails.

How do you change to "routing to the roads" instead of "as the crow flies"? I literally watched the video trying to figure that out and then ya didn't do it in the video after saying it haha. Please let me know! Thanks

I’ve purchased one but I’m still waiting for it to be delivered apparently Garman has got 5 to 8 weeks backlog due to all that’s going on around the world I’ve Been told anyhow it would be good if you could do a different step by steps each video would be very helpful

just got this. still trying to figure it out.. hence looking at you tube. Does it point you with the arrow in the direction you should walk? do trees interfere with it? So if i am standing still and turn in a circle i can align in the right direction with the purple line? I had marked a waypoint and walked away from it and when i tried to find it, it was pointing in the wrong direction? Thanks for any advice!

Hi Mark, thank you for your question and support of the channel. I would be honored with your subscription and will be doing many more videos on this. You nailed it with the functionality. As soon as you mark a waypoint, it should throw a straight purple line on the display. This line ignores trees, buildings, etc. The only way you can adjust the line is for roads if you are near one. It takes a second to adjust your position, so when you are walking make sure to turn the gps slowly for the signal to catch up to your new direction. I hope that helps and you have a great day!

Thank you Tony for the positive comment, I really appreciate it! I would definitely recommend either the 22 or 32x for a Thu hike. I’d go with the 22 if you are on a budget , since the 32 really only gives you a digital compass for an extra $100. I hope that helps and you have an awesome trip!

my 32x still in its too dificult box: Discovered its no use outside the US ( cycle hiking) unless you buy maps ( UK talky toaster) Wish simple video Make cycle route in google Upload GPx to garmin base camp .. Now what . How does it tell you where to go ? I really dont give a damn about tracks and routes just cant get started Ms O
