Thank you so very much for this tutorial. Everyone I've tried to talk to and ask questions ack like i was supposed to wake one morning with empirical knowledge, I'm not that gifted , now it maks some sense.

@@scottarmstrong5273 - I’m glad I was able to help - I agree that it can be confusing and the manual is not always that helpful. I just take the boat out and push buttons and see what happens. But I have more time on my hands than most people so I figured I would document my findings.

Great video! I will recommend this video to people who ask me about autopilot I don't use it at all so I am not familiar with it.

The Ft. Fisher ferries in the NC Ferry System go from port to port in both directions. In other words, cars drive on one end (I’ll call it “end A”) and the ship ferries them across the Cape Fear River with end B forward. The cars drive off end B after the crossing. The next cars drive on end B and end A becomes forward, end B becomes aft as the ship transits the other direction across the river. The cars then drive off end A. I think this is a scenario where directional control should be enabled as the ship really does travel in both directions.

Thank you, very helpful! I see tour depth gauge flashes, what does that indicate?

@@donaldjones4900 - I am in too shallow of water and the signal return is overdriving the receiver. It’s an issue I’m looking into since it always does this when I need it the most - while in shallow water (typically 7ft or less).
