Curious...if you turn off the communication with the satellite system, how would the SOS reach Garmin and send your location? You may not be able to turn the Satellite on again if you're in a bad situation.

You are NOT turning off communication; you are choosing the interval when the inReach Mini 2 sends your location to your shared map. The SOS is a manually requested communication to the Garmin SOS centre. I tested SOS when I changed this setting, and everything worked well for me.
