Hey y'all, I have comments muted so I haven't seen these until now. I appreciate the kind words and I'm glad y'all like it. To address some things: - the band is here: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0C1414GM8?th=1 - I kept the watch for a year then sold it. Not really Garmins fault I just reverted back to not really needing any "smart" functionality and I now wear GShocks and mechanical watches. I don't have any complaints other than what I said in the vid, except that if you disconnect the garmin from a time setting source (gps or bluetooth), it keeps absolutely horrendous time. So it needs to sync with the phone or GPS every few days at least, if you're like me and need to-the-second accuracy

This is KZbin at its best. Just a guy sharing. Not a business, no ads, no affiliate links. Thanks man.

I have to agree with some of the comments here. This is what I want in a KZbin product review... No ego, no presenter trying hard to be funny, just a person telling you how it is... Like you're walking with him in the park and he's just telling you his experience of the product you're interested in. PS I just bought the watch

As a guy that loves the Apple eco system, I’m getting rid of my Apple Watch for an instinct 2 solar. And I’m glad to see so many other people sick of charging every day. That was the biggest selling point for me is the battery life. Great video. Just what I needed to hear

My journey is exactly yours: I had an Apple Watch and hated having to charge the damn thing every night. Then it fell off the charger and broke the screen, which made me more frustrated. Then I got a really nice rugged G-Shock with minor bluetooth + step counting capability. Loved it, but the metrics on running were garbage. The Garmin Instinct 2 was the next logical purchase. I bought one today after watching your review. Really excited for it to arrive. I'm guessing it is what I hope for: the g-shock and the apple watch fused together :P Thanks for the content.

I've come across a unused Garmin instinct s2 solar on marketplace for £150. Seller purchased in October 2023 for £297 but it's an unwanted Christmas present. Thoughts on the solar 2s would be appreciated.

I had vivofit 4 for the 1 year battery, unfortunately when battery drained the whole case and strap of the watch also crumbled so basically have to replace it every year. Need something more durable I think… I like the pace of this video

Great video man. I remember your video about switching to the g shock! Thanks for making this video, I've been looking at the instinct 2 solar!

Coming back to this later. Instinct 2S is available for $230 in camo at "the jungle retailer". The 2S Solar is $120 more; not worth it, I think. Since I already have a couple of dumb G-Shocks and a Garmin Edge 130 bike GPS, I think I'm going for the 2S this time. Casio still doesn't quite have their act together with proper GPS watch. They have a 5600 G-Shock with HRM, bluetooth and app connectivity, but it's just not that intuitive and getting the data somewhere I want it (like Strava) is not really doable.

I’m not advocating for it because I feel like this isn’t what a GShock should be, but a few of them including the DW-H5600 can integrate with Strava. Garmin is still probably the better choice if you care about fitness metrics but I just wanted to throw that out there gshock.casio.com/us/products/type/gshock-strava-compatible/

I just came from a Forerunner 55 and ordered a Instinct 2S(regular). In terms of battery life i don’t use sleep tracking as i hate wearing a watch whilst sleeping, so i turn my watch off at night and got almost 3,5 weeks of battery life out of my forerunnner 55. So the Instinct 2s should perform similarly

Hey man, how did it went with the 2s compared to FR55, I’m in between these two. Could you elaborate the pros and cons, how about the screen, etc. Thanks in advance.

Thanks. That really helped me. I was wondering if the 2S would be too small and i think it would be. The prices are good in the uk atm so will go for the 2.

Went from apple 4 watch(4years and apple 1 (2years)) to Garmin instinct 2 solar, I’ll never look back. I’m done with an iPad on my wrist and an analog smart watch is my way forward. I’m charging in 20days.

Hey! I’m thinking of getting the 2S and I was wondering if you’d be able to reply with your thoughts on this watch 10 months later. Are you still using it? Any issues so far? Would you recommend it to someone who (like you did) wants smart watch features in a form factor that’s closer to a g shock and not too-connected? Thanks in advance!

Hey man ! Do you have a link to that aftermarket band ?
I believe the charge is pretty fast too because I have a fénix 6 pro which is a good a bigger watch and it charges fast. I feel like the watches battery last longer too because they don’t do all these unnecessary things smart watches do.
