I successfully updated the GLS10 and 126sv. My LVS is on an independent pole and not in the TM but I’m not seeing the option to add a degree offset. Now I don’t have a Garmin Force so does that mean I would not have access to using that feature? Also thanks for all you do for the Garmin community. I (we as a community) learn a ton of great info from your videos!! Keep up the good work!

The degree offset after further investigation is to help align the offset of the transducer not matching the trolling motor direction if they aren’t aligned properly. In order for this option you need a Garmin force

Ill have to do the update on SD card this time. I got an extra SD card so I could keep a backup of everything & have old software Incase the new one has issues. I have my lvs34 system on my Hobie PA12 kayak with a pole. The fishing specialties kayak bow ducer pole. It's awesome! They make a long version for boats of course. The pole drops right in the mount & can be removed in 1 second. If you hit something like a stump, it will lift up also so it could save you from damaging your transducer. They have their own lvs34 transducer mount as well. It's much better than factory Garmin. You have infinite adjustment for forward or perspective for different depths

I have the Garmin express app on my computer I pulled all the information from my units and uploaded to the app now when there’s a update I just insert my SD card it uploads and then plug it into my unit and it’s quick and easy.

Hi Randy, I need a bit of info please.my last up date is a 20.00 on my 126sv and 2.58 on my live scope. Also is thete a update on the force. TM and is it worth updating? The other two I need to buy the preloaded sd card. I am not good or too old to try ActiveCaptain and I can’t down load from my cp ( too old for the download ). Any help would be great!

Hi Randy my echomap UHD 93sv, echomap Ultra 106sv and echomap Ultra 126sv have never been updated. If I buy a card will one card update all and my gls10 livescope? And if so will I do each one separate if they are networked together or will one share to the other? Thanks for your great advice.

If they are networked and all are powered on they will update one right after another. The newest update will bring it current

Just updated and I got some of the new update but I don't have any of the heading options that you have and I have a Garmin force with the lvs34 on the shaft . But active captain shows it updated and I got the new off screen when powering down . idk why the new options in installation aren't showing up . No heading source option gps 1222 EDIT : MAKE SURE YOUR FORCE IS BLUETOOTH TO THE CHARTPLOTTER TO GET THE NEW HEADING FEATURES .

You have to link your Garmin force to your fishfinder to have that option

That's the truth, Garmin Does A Fantastic Job For Me , I Honestly Have No Real Complaints I can See Everything I need to See ,I've Always been satisfied with what it does , The Garmin updates I've seen featured different Functions, It targeted Some things like Maps ,But Ya Never know What They'll Come Up with , Most People Think when they Buy it it's a guarantee limit of fish ,Facts Are Facts You can see em but it DON'T Make Em Eat , Unrealistic To Think It Does

Downloading updates on card is no better the using active captain. All AC does is down load the update to the mem card that you have linked to it. Once the update is on the card it then installed its the same thing just less steps via the AC

I’ve never had a problem using active captain. I get saving previous firmware on your computer to revert, but besides that I can’t figure out why some are against AC. I have 4 garmins on my boat and AC updates them all without having to pull card and put in all of them one by one. That’s what I like about it. It may bite me at some point, if it does, factory reset load from card, I suppose.

@@KatManDew931 i think many of the AC problems are due to poor wifi connections or people trying to install over cell signal even tho they tell you not to do that. There are many other factors IE phone going to sleep in mid install. Most guys are not tech savvy and dont know all the rules so install from card might be best for them.

Don't update! Wish I could go back to last year's version of my live sonar. Base Garmin maps on my 1222 are just awful compared to my 10 year old Lowrance. It doesn't show rivers at all.
