I just got the Zumo XT without knowing about the existence of the Montana (some magical algorithm brought me here). I do some adventure but I’d love to get a good tool for off road motorcycling. I can tell (after watching your video which is awesome btw) this GPS is way more versatile than the XT. If I wasn’t just a little concern about the brightness of this screen on a sunny day I’d return the XT in a heartbeat !! May I have your opinion ? Thank you

Is it a New Zumo model? Like released within a year of the Montana? They probably share the same screen. I haven’t used it on handlebars yet with the full sun. Now you got me thinking if the Colors are vibrant as on my gps map 66st vs garmin drive.

@@AvoidingChores I think it came out on March this year. The screen is slightly smaller but super bright to be seen in any condition. I believe is motorcycle/car/bycicle oriented and seems very practical but very limited compared to the one on your video. No compass, and it’s InReach compatible but it’s not included. $500 (Bc of Black Friday I payed $400) Oh and the line of your route it’s thick opposed to the thin one on the Montana. I’m going to keep watching your videos, they’re great ! And since there’s not other comparison in between these two (there’s one not in depth in Spanish) I’m going to have 3 more weeks to decide what do I do with the XT. Plus I’m new to gps ...

Definitely if you plan to ride then get off the bike and use your GPS in a different way yeah I think the Zumo may not be the right one. The Montana might be a really good option for you it all depends on your activities. Like I prefer handheld models as opposed to wrist or car base models to cover my main activities.

@@AvoidingChores I’ve been digging today about this Voyager Pro GPS, pretty amazing device with a bunch of sensors you can hook up with, very handy, bright neat screen, you can upload GPX files, you can even see up to 20 of your buddies on your map and other things “but” it won’t take you to an specific address nor find the closest McDonald’s Among the comments somebody was complaining about how dark the screen on the Montana was but I still think it’s the closest to perfection ..

Been thinking of upgrading from my small screen Oregon unit to this or the 66. I wanted to add in the in-reach feature as well. I do some off reading but also so wilderness hiking looking for gold claims. Do you have a preference between the two units?

If you are doing those two activities, the 66 would be the better option IMO just for portability when hiking as with the montana 700, there’s no hiking clip (unless something got released recently) and it’s bulky to carry in your hand for a few kms
