Garmin's Harry Curley talks Garmin Relief Shading

Hi I just purchased a G3 card, do I still.have to get a SD card on top of this ? And use active captain to see the relief shading as its the only box that does not show on my screen. Fish eye 3d and mariner 3d box appears on my garmin uhd 95sv but not the relief shading box....I only set it up 2 days ago on my coffee table as its not in the boat yet....thanks in advance.

Hi Harry, I recently purchased a Cruise Craft 635 fitted with a Garmin GPSMAP 8412xsv with east coast G3 charts & GT51M-Tm transducer and Airmar B175 Bronze Thru Hull MID CHIRP 1kW (85-135 kHz) Transducer with temp 8-pin. This set u[p is for fishing the conti-shelf off the north east of Tasmania in depths of 400-600 meters. My fishing chart detail is very basic with far less contour details compared to other friends navionics charts. Apparently l have to do an upgrade to maximise my charts detail and also upgrade to have relief shading as you demonstate above. How do l do this and is there more l need to do? regards Glenn

Y u guys domt zoom in closer. Dont be scared. Need to see how much detail it can show or is it just the same as bathymaps.

Yep, and watch the fish stocks plummet now any kook with this technology can find every bit of structure out there. So much for our kids getting to fish in the future
