Garmin's VFR approaches explained

In its G1000 NXi and the current line of retrofit GPS navigators, Garmin has a built-in utility called Visual Approaches, and it's one of the more misunderstood features of these systems. That can lead to a bad situation. In this video, Cirrus demo pilot Cliff Allen cuts to the chase and explains how it works on the G1000 NXi Perspective platform, but the overall concept applies to all equipped systems.

Could it be flown to an airport without IFR approach ?. Let's say, gravel airstrip .

Yes. If it is in the navigation database. That is where it is most useful, bush, gravel, grass, ... because of the lack of other navigation aids.

THIS would definitely save you from VFR into IMC
