Hi! How are you? I wanted to know if it is possible to set sessions like for example 10 minutes of running 2 minutes of fast running and 1 minute of walking... do you know if its possible to set that with the app in order to get the program on the watch? Thank you and hi from Argentina

My shows very wrong pulse when comparing Polar Vantage M. When it should show my rate 140 it goes down 55?? And when walking slowly down from the hill it returns 100. So its "computer" can not handle high pulses (of course my hand is clean and I've cleaned lence of Vivosport) - very, very disappointed - I went to doctor for it even.

Hi Eric. Great job as always! Let me ask you... Do new Garmin devices (I mean VA3 and Vivosport) switch smoothly from GPS mode to accelometer while walking? Let's say I'm going for a walk outside and then enter the building (indoor walking). Should the activity be continued or paused (because of the loss of GPS signal) in third specific situation? Have you tried something like that?
@TechyAgent
@TechyAgent 7 жыл бұрын
+Łukasz Pajor The GPS doesn’t seem to do well once you walk inside, unless it has a really strong signal. Based on my experience, you would need to pause the workout and then resume once you step back outside

I'm not saying this device is bad but my mother was wearing this device and had a commotion with my brother that was violent for approximately 5 seconds and the strap was torn apart. She merely tried to intercept a fight between my brother and someone else at home. Also my brother is a skinny twig not a massive bodybuilder that can destroy stuff in a snap. After the strap was torn apart, it cannot be replaced and the entire watch is unusable.

Hei Techy... Here againt.... eternity question.... Gear Fit 2 Pro (more display, Samsung, music, change bands) or Vivosport (more conford and small, better monitor for sports, more cheap) for my girlfriend...More important features are: battery, hit cardio or similar and good app for mobile....She has one Note8 too... and this moment has one Charge HR as wearable... I need your experience and opinion... I saw all videos but... I not clear one choice... Thanks for all...

I purchased the vivosport and as someone with a 6" wrist circumference, the other models absolutely would never work for me as they are wider than my wrist. I'm disappointed in Garmin that their smaller device isn't ConnectIQ-compatible, so the vivosport doesn't work with other apps like Sleep as Android, which is extremely disappointing. It is extremely comfortable, even though I have fibromylgia and am super-sensitive to pressure. It does have its own sleep functionality, so it's not a total loss, but I really wanted it to work to detect when I got up in middle of the night, and tell my Sleep as Android app not to call me in "deep sleep" during those periods as it wrecks my accuracy and I'm not going to carry my phone to the toilet in middle of the night. Perhaps between the two apps I can figure out all out, but it's very disappointing to me that Garmin didn't make the vivosport a ConnectIQ device! As far as the functioning goes, most of it works good enough. The reps count and exercises for weight lifting are never correct. The running features are far better, and as a general fitness band for steps and "stairs" counting (I live in a very hilly area so it counts my walking on the sidewalk and in my yard as stairs), meeting calorie goals, and getting you to move it works wonderfully. The move bar is great, and you can change how often it alerts you to move if every 15 minutes is unrealistic like it was for me (I have work to do, I can't get up every 15 minutes so I set it to once an hour and it's great and very realistic now). I love the dark themed Garmin Connect app, and it does a really fine job of pulling in my calories eaten from MyFitnessPall, but it does not work both ways: MyFitnessPal doesn't see my exercise from my vivosport. So you can't go by what MyFitnessPal tells you for calories, you have to use Garmin's app. One thing I've found that I hate is that none of these things play nice with Samsung Health. So nothing you do in Samsung Health is counted anywhere else. It's pretty much made me rethink using Samsung Health - an app I previously found very helpful due to their great video-guided exercise routines. If you're a big Samsung Health user, you might want to buy a different band as Garmin doesn't work with Samsung.

Bought this mainly for the ANT+ that talks to my Edge 520 when cycling. Hate chest straps. Works well most of the time. On occasion thinks my HR is 190+ when it is not. What this watch fails at is counting flights of stairs. Hit and miss. I have spoken with garmin on this, and they ask things like how do you walk up stairs, is your hand in your pocket, on the rail, etc etc. I walk up stairs like a normal human. I can do 10 flights and get a 1 on one occasion. I can do 10 flights and get a 9 on another occasion. It does not counts stairs!

I wish it had replaceable bands. I'd like a leather or cloth band, and also an ankle band. I would also like to have the ability to put it in a small belt clip (like a pedometer). I know that the HRS won't work on a belt clip, but there are activities which screw up accuracy (like holding a phone to play Pokémon, or using garden tools when doing yardwork). Of course, a shake-weight would really get the step count up high!
@thekinaton
@thekinaton 6 жыл бұрын
A very poor fitness tracker, steps are 1/3 higher than a manual pedometer, and my old band 2 (which was 30 or so steps less than the pedometer). Updating firmware isn't easy, you need to connect to a PC. Keeps loosing Bluetooth connectivity, says its not connected so no notifications, yet sync and music control works, so no idea what that issue is! Sleep tracking is awful, only seems to track during Preset normal times, which isn't much use, and no way to manually turn on! A fair better device than anything Fitbit has produced, but not on par with the now defunct Microsoft Band!

I am a high school student that plays soccer and is starting to get into running. Therefore, to track my runs and measure my daily fitness, I want a fitness tracker with gps but I am very puzzled on which one to get; the Xiaomi Amazefit pace 1, or the garmin vivosport. The components that I am looking out for between these two trackers are: -the price -durability -size (I have small wrists so I don't want to watch to be a nuisance during running and soccer training) If you could give me a recommendation that would be great.

Yeah, in general I prefer the Garmin devices and ecosystem, however I like the A370 over the Vivosport. I think it has a better heart rate sensor. The downside is that it doesn’t have built in gps. Very detailed review! I will skip this one for sure. I now have the apple watch series 3, for the last 5 days. I am loving it! IT tracks everything I do. I use the new Polar OH1 optical HR sensor when I exercise. By the way the Scosche Rhythm + HR monitor did not work for me, I went through 2 of them, and they kept giving me HR readings of 33,000 BPM at random times during my workout. The Polar OH1 has been spot on all the time, with whatever exercise I am doing. Keep up the awesome reviews Eric!! Have a great weekend!!

which one is better for everyday fitness band Garmin vivosport or fit bit charge 3?
@TechyAgent

I think the Fitbit Charge 3
@Alanicus1
@Alanicus1 5 жыл бұрын
Probably the Garmin, as the Fitbit woefully overestimates the number of steps covered. Fitbit also only has connected GPS which is decidedly hit and miss

thenks for the answer, but the Garmin can't change the bands and I sow a lot off people they break them in 3\6 month, then for the fit bit people said that it put them steps in driving and standing and sleeping, so I decided to try amazfit bip, has 30 day battery, display alleyways on, the only thing that I don't like is that it don't recognize me biking if I don't start a session for it

Yes, Amazon ships more products worldwide than any other online retailer. They are very trustworthy and safe, in my opinion.

I just want to walk to work , keep track of steps at work , I walk a lot , hike on weekends , keep track of calories , and the idea of sleep tracking sounds cool and monitoring heart. I also like the colors lol Winks Lisa

If you haven't gotten one yet I would recommend the cheaper Vivo 3. It does all the same things, but no color or GPS. If money isn't an issue, they go for the color. I personally just love the format of the App and the simplicity of the device. It also vibrates if you aren't moving enough for long periods. Also, you have to sync it and I found that a little annoying. Anyway hope you enjoy it.

+Ian McNabb Absolutely. The Vivoactive 3 is an all around better device, but it does cost $100 more
@IonicCascade
@IonicCascade 7 жыл бұрын
+Techy Agent it might cost more, but I believe the features are well worth it since it's quite similar to the Fenix 5 in a slightly smaller package for half the price

+Anirudh Bansal-PGDM Yes, Garmin has been including the stress score on most of their products now. They have also added it to a few of their older products that are higher end, like the Fenix watches.

I have used fitbit trackers, the applewatch series 2 and garmin fenix 3HR.. imo the best for the gym is a Fitbit tracker (Charge HR or Ionic) , more accurate sensors and better layout. Ofc thats my opinion , just tried to help :)

Hi, great review! Could you please let me know which of the two? Polar a370 or garmin vivosport? Which one is a better all around fitness tracker? Is a370 more accurate with hr? But then vivosport has a built in gps.. And some extra features like barometer and Vo2max which could be useful to me. From the apps? You like the polar or the garmin one more? A good thing about a370 is that i can pair it up with my H10 chest strap whenever i want to have a serious accurate training. I really dont know what to do please help! Feels like whichever i choose i will lose something.

I would say that your assumption is correct: the Polar has a better heart rate sensor but the GPS on the Garmin is better.

Barometer? Did you mean altimeter?
@TechyAgent

It’s actually a barometric altimeter, meaning it uses a barometer to detect air pressure to determine falling or growing altitudes.

hi techy ,which would you suggest polar a370 or garmin sport?
@TechyAgent

It depends: if you are doing gps distance-based cardio like running and cycling, then the vivosport. If you are doing mostly gym based exercises and lifting, then the Polar.
