For a 37' boat, that engine room is awesome. No need for engine room yoga to do maintenance; which means that regular maintenance will more likely get done. This is a fantastic boat for the Great Loop. I also love that GH puts full size refrigerators on their boats. GH is really moving up my list of liveaboard trawlers.

It all boils down to your specification and time of ordering etc. Very rough figures, you are looking somewhere in the low $600's for an entry level spec, to the mid $700s for a top of the line example. Great Harbour would be your best option to work with for more accurate pricing. As to solar, plenty of room on this one to mount solar panels to keep your ancillaries onboard topped up without needing to run the engines or generators. Again, Great Harbour can assist with this install and planning.

@GarnockReviews4 ай бұрын
I love this one too Erik. Only thing is, the Yanmar fuel economy and range is a big part of this yachts appeal. Those Cummins I'm sure would drink more than the Yanmars, and with the hill design, you probably won't get much more speed.
@erikjohnson14824 ай бұрын
@@GarnockReviews could always get the 5.9 de tuned. I have a 8.3L 250 hp 6c Cummins in my 50’ commercial schooner and I’m barely using 3.5gph doing 8.5kts@2100 rpm. All comes down to gear ratios and prop pitch, I think on the low end the 6b is offered at 210hp, then again I’d opt for a single screw, not as easy to maneuver, but then again there are so many thruster options on the market now. My biggest beef with marine engines is that if you read the data tags, they are generally listed as recreational engines, and not rated for constant duty ie long distance passage making. I prefer engines with an industrial heritage meant for the long haul. Throw in a keel cooler and a dry stack exhaust and you will never again have to mess with a heat exchanger or raw water pump/impeller. At least they aren’t Volvos!!!!

Great Harbours are, literally, "go anywhere" boats. They are based on a Pacific workboat hull design - you know, the "Deadliest Catch" boats that go into the Bering sea in atrocious conditions. I have over 20,000 cruising miles on these boats in all kinds of offshore conditions. Safe and stable without external stabilizers. Contact Captain Joe Senn at Great Harbour Trawlers (he actually lives aboard his own N37!) for more info and to answer any questions you might have about stability and offshore capabilities.

Thank you for the prompt replies. I just worry about that profile in strong wind conditions. There is a lot of boat above the waterline, but testimonials from people who actually own and sail these boats obviously counts for a lot. The pluses of that great volume are indeed important for liveaboards.

@@sailor5026 Yes, there is some windage, however, this is a 48,000 lb. displacement yacht. Even though shallow draft, there is a whole lot of hull in the water. As hull designer Lou Codega says, "We take the displacement OUT rather than down." VERY stable in all conditions.

Thanks, again. I do appreciate these comments, and I really do like the accommodation. I also realize that every design is a compromise. I also like to see owners take the time to stick up for their boats. Good sailing to you.

Ever since I started my channel, I've dreamed of doing The Great Loop. If that dream were ever to be a reality, it would be awesome to do it in something like this 🤠

Depending on spec, you are looking at low $600s for entry level, and low $700s for fully loaded as a rough guide 😉
