People like to point out that Garou was fated to lose due to Saitama being the main character with op power shenanigans, but they don't realize one thing: Garou isn't meant to lose because Saitama always wins, Garou is meant to lose *because he's the underdog.* His entire character is based around the underdog, the oppressed, the unheard. He only ever wanted to make people feel a blow from the weak, he never wanted to be a god, he only ever wanted to be the opposition of the gods. Garou never truly desired to win, or be #1, or anything like that. Maybe I'm just stupid or overthinking but I find it even more motivating, that even the weakest child can grow into a god for the sole purpose of showing that even those of us dealt a rough hand in life can do anything.
