Thanks for this video, it was great and perfect timing as I am currently working on an AT60. My idler arm was barely contacting the motor, but the culprit turned out to be shaft that holds the arm. It was just crusty enough that it was not allowing the spring to complete it's job.

Your drill sandpaper idea did the trick for mine. It’s just a record player, not a vintage high end audiophile machine. We’re good to go with that fix!

Wait a minute? You didn’t even measure the RPM to know if the speed is off speed. Nor did you measure the OD of the pulley.

Three times now, you removed the Turntable and put it back down. NEVER cleaning the under driven rim. Ya gotta remove all that grease from your finger tips first.

These thin idler pulleys are $50 with a return pulley for rebuilding. Ive had good luck coating the drive wheel with A thin layer coating of Plasti-Dip. One technique is to look up the Garrard turntable and get the part number. This can be done easily at Voice of Music on line. NO ! NO! NO! Do not grind rubber material off the drive surface , it opens up the pores to accept moisture, then the wheel splits. Grinding is the a prophylactic cure. Coating is the best way. Having the wheel professionally rebuilt is best and costliest.

That drive wheel is a Walsco 1407-3 . Stop grinding your tires. You will slip off the road

The moral of the lesson is. These changers are not worth the time or money it takes to professionally restore them.
