As of 2022/23, just get a BT transmitter/receiver that is v5.0 or higher. The delay is basically zero. Any version of BT below v5.0 WILL have a delay to some degree (the lower the version number, the worse the delay can be). Also, another plus for v5.0 and up, is that it uses very low power (especially when compered to older BT versions like 4.x, 3.x... etc). That means you can use it for longer before it needs a recharge. You can find decent v5.0 BT transmitters on eBay and Ali Express starting around $15 US.

Look forward to seeing the tests. I have heard that bluetoooth lags too much on detectors but I am sure the technology has moved on over the years. Hope they work well.

hi mate that set up looks good'i had a Bluetooth headset connection fitted to my ace 250'but didn't stay with it's to keep buying batteries for it and the headphones lol' so I just stick to ordinary headphones now.but as always these manufacturers know what their doing getting us to buy the expensenive detectors knowing that the next one has wireless or Bluetooth built in!I have only got my 300i a few months now and the AT max is out with wireless headphones! look forward to the video of it in action'keep well and best of luck when you get out mate.

I tried the same thing a while back but the lag made it completely unusable. I've been looking at Bluetooth aptx low latency transmitters and matching headphones. But obviously much more cost involved.

Hey man, that doesn't make sense. Okay, I'll plug the jack reduction from 6 to 3.5 into the detector. Now I connect the 3.5 male jack on the cable with amplifier to the transmitter and now I have a female 3.5 on both ends. And? There is no mention in the video that another jack reduction of 3.5 - 3.5 males on both sides is needed. I have exactly the same receiver/transmiter.

Hi, can you use this in a 55 MHz+ "gold" detector? they are little nervous beasts, with continuous shattering and ultra sensible (I got one).

Hello aaron hope all is well in this time. I did buy a bluetooth device connected fine with my headphones. Starts of loud with first bleep then goes to low volume an only uses one ear piece does that one play in stereo? Many thanks from paul

Not bad if you swing slow, with the Ace 250 you get better results with a quick swing, no idea why. So with a quick swing the lag (small tho it is) was a bit off putting. But if you’re a slow swinger... it will work fine!
