This is a nice find, it seems to have been barely used! The reason that the alarm isn't working is mostly likely that the piezo beeper has failed. I repaired a Garrett 2002 Clock/Calculator, and it had the same issue. It seems that piezo beepers in that form factor aren't made anymore, but a generic one of similar size should work fine.

Thanks for that tip on the piezo. I'd like to see a Garrett 2002. There's an RCA-badged version of the 2002 on eBay, but the seller wants _way_ too much for my poor wallet!
