I’d like to see a video of it used submerged while swinging in waist to chest deep water, like my buddy and I do in the bay beaches, where the water is calmer that on the gulf beaches. Congrats on the silver war nickel and thanks for the saltwater test. 👍🏻

Did you try it on 8 freq shift on the big silvers in beach mode? This where the problems start on big silvers....In the land program multi it starts around 6 on the freq shift.

@calabashdiggeradventures beach program works fine. These tests need to be done in land multi frequency modes. In addition these type of tests should be tested with their clad counter parts. I hunted with the Vortex in the woods yesterday. Compared signals with the deus 2. The Vortex could hit the targets we compared against that day. I'm giving up on mine until they do am update. Then I'll start all over. If they can put the vdi scale in from the beach program it will work great!

@@MD-NWWI the vortex is mid grade at best and not in the same league as the deus 2. The key words being the targets we compared that day. Sure and I compared a bounty hunter to a Deus 2 and the bounty could hit the targets I compared that day. So what that means is you tried easy targets. lol

The problem with id i figured out is they didn't utilize all numbers in the vdi scal from 40 to 99 in the land multi frequency programs. The numbers they used were 40 45 50 52 55 60 65 71 78 79 83 86 89 95. That makes it really difficult to be able to identify between clad and silver. Clad dimes were usually 80 81 on other garrett machines. Silver would be 82 83. Clad quarter 85 86 and silver quarter 87 88. I hope they can fix it. I am mostly after silver coins myself.

I am looking for a good all around detector. One that works well on a beach and ghost towns/deserts/wherever as I travel the US. You say this is a good detector for the saltwater beach, does it do well in ghost towns where I will search ground/stonewalls/standing fireplaces and foundations???

You have to set the top shaft in a pin position. Then it can’t rotate.
