Nice Hunt.... Glad Garrett is fixing things, but I sent mine back and decided on the Triple Score as it has many more features for less money. Needed a backup to the Deus 2. Garrett still has a like of features, free accessories and bugs for me. Might be for some, but get a no from me at this time.

I think Vortex will be great. Really cannot think of a bad Garrett ever made. At pro, At max, the 400 etc still bieng bought and used today with much success to the users. Really think this one will be worked out. Just a few , just a few adjustments.

No Bottle cap rejection in Multi Salt Beach mode that’s a big problem they got fix

Wish I could say I know they will but not sure. I have tested it with bottle caps and for me it’s pretty obvious but I rarely use bottle cap reject on any of my other machine the audio tells me what I need to know. But that’s just me I understand where people are coming from. Maybe they add it ? I don’t know 🤷‍♂️

First of all great video and thank you so much for posting ! I’m glad to see the improvements on the Vortex. I have owned and own a lot of different high-end machines from analog to digital and I don’t say this easily….this must be one of the quietest machines I’ve seen on the beach. Of course I don’t have it in my own hands… but for me to purchase this machine and use it on the beach I would agree with the testers that it needs bottle cap rejection in the multi frequency on the beach mode. Also a version of full tones for this machine. Great job Brian, looks like Garrett’s moving in the right direction . Cheers

@@lancemcilwainoutcastmetald5398 so far what I have seen is the Silver coin VDI has been improved and I am sure more enhancements may be made, the On / Off issue has been addressed. I have shown those things on video Remember this was a beta update and feel sure that Garrett will try to hit some more. Haven’t seen any bricking and charge issues with this update. The release of what they are working on will happen very soon . Looks like VDIs are more stable. The real update may address more but I don’t know what those things will be. Stay tuned as update should happen coming this week from what Steve said on Friday. Are you thinking of getting one and testing it ? Maybe you should you seem to like testing. I think you would do good at it and you can share what you are seeing. You did really well on testing vids you put up.

I have the Vanquish 540 not a bad machine at all . They are all good just got to find the one that suits you best. All machines have strengths and weaknesses and all machines miss things too 👍😊 No perfect detector.

The only thing id use a garret for on the beach is fighting off homeless people. They missed the mark by 20 years on technology. The pinpointers are still ok.

I agree with that.... I was really pulling for Garrett, but I think they missed the mark on this one at that price point. There are $250 detectors that have beach mode with bottle cap rejection and more than 3 and 5 tones. I sent mine back, I hated the audio.
