i mean despite brock purdy not winning he can defo be proud of his season. coming in as a round 7 draft pick and being called mr.irrelevant to being the 49ers reliable man, when there other two qb's were injured, which they thought was the most unlikely situation, but purdy stepped up to the plate and i salute him.

Bruh, how was olave not in the running. He played 2 less games than Wilson and had 60 yards difference. Both had 4 rec tds. Also caught 11 less than Wilson but look at the targets. Wilson got 147 and olave only had 119. Give Olave about 30 more pass attempts and for sure he is getting more yards and more catches than Wilson

Olave didn't even get any recognition and he put up similar numbers to Wilson all while playing less amount of games. Same boat with Kenneth Walker playing less games, but at least he was a nominee. Also reports say that Walker actually got more 1st votes than Wilson. Garrett Wilson did extremely well with what was the worst QB in the league this year, but to say this wasn't unexpected is dismissive.

What is surprising is that people viewed Wilson as a sure win to win OROY, when in fact it was a close race anyone could've won it. Walker would've indeed won it in the previous voting format. Thus the reasoning behind this being quite unexpected.

I don't see why Chris Olave isn't up there being they both had the same amount of TDs. Olave also dealt with multiple bad and inconsistent qb play as well in NO. He did miss two games but, Olave had 72 rec, Wilson had 83 and only 60 yards separates them on the year with Olave having more yards per game/per reception.
