You’ve been a huge influence on me Garrett, and I want to thank you. During 2008, we were real estate rich and cash poor. Then the aftermath of 2008. We were still cash poor and our real estate equity took a dive. We struggled. I swore it would never happen to us again. When I started watching your videos, your philosophy of life and money resonated with me. We were at a cross roads late in 2019 when my husband was retiring. He wanted to pay off our mortgage at 3%. I didn’t want to because I felt liquidity meant more to me. When the lockdown happened in March 2020, my online sales business took an immediate hit. But because of our liquid savings, I felt confident enough to make a large (large to us) investment in my business, to a product that would be of greater use to locked down home workers. Without that liquidity. Without that “filling a need and being of value”, we probably would have led ourselves into a scarcity mindset and watched our business crumble. I hope you know how much I appreciate that.

What a contrast from what the news and media put out. Fear monger, fear, fear, isolate, panic, doom, and gloom. No! Look within, find inspiration, recognize your skills and abilities, improve them if needed. Calm your mind, kill all the outside noise, trust your gut, use common sense. Create value, and prosper regardless of what the world is doing. Well said Garrett !!👏

I really appreciate when Garrett tries to get the average person to think differently, so they can earn in a new way. After covid, it's just a matter of time before robots replace the average worker and old ways are replaced with new technology. There is no time to waste. People need help & answers, now. It's not a matter of less debt & more saving. There are millions of people who can barely afford the basics. It's a matter of "how can I redesign my life and begin a new path from zero?".

Garrett is giving great advice that actually helps people that are hurting right now. His advice to people to find the best ways that they can create value for others and not just spend less and save more is gold. How can you save more if you don't have any income in the first place? What if you have already cut out all unnecessary spending? I love his advice to use this time for improving yourself and consequently your ability to make money by creating value for others.

Thank you this is refreshing. I have always felt that Dave Ramsey & Suze Orman were condescending and eventually stopped listening to them & the other people who listen to them. I have always felt that scrimping & saving for an emergency fund was very difficult. I'm not against it, but I am beginning to realize that there is a better way to be ready for times like these than just saving for an emergency fund. I feel like that preaching of saving for an emergency fund is just part of the game to keep people poor.

Suze is to Garrett as a pre-school teacher's assistant is to a university professor. It's one thing to not squander your money, but it's another thing to live in abject fear of losing a penny. As Garrett says, investing in yourself will pay massive dividends even in the short term, hiding in your closet and making yourself live in poverty doesn't actually get you anywhere. Suze's advice is SO rudimentary and, all too often, just flat out wrong. But then, she's a millionaire who is so out of touch with reality that she couldn't possibly know what it's like to live the way the bottom 75% of people do.

They target the lower and middle class, and tell them what they want to hear. Its terrible.
@barbararepko48242 жыл бұрын
Yet they have a “one size fits all” mentality and make lower and middle class people believe it’s easy to be rich, and if they’re not then they’re treated condescendingly. Dave Ramsey is more guilty of this attitude.

To be truthful, Suze has already made her $$$$$$$$ from her books, numerous TV appearances, and advice columns... She's got her future set! So, like most wealthy people that "preach" while riding on the backs of others (And the methods utilized are no different from that of a megapastor, except the nature of the content) - Why should she care?
@dienekes43643 жыл бұрын
The other thing that Suze is wrong about is putting your money in savings. It's MUCH better, if you have "spare money", to look into putting it into an Infinite Banking account. It's a whole-life policy that provides 50x the interest return AND you can borrow against it _WITHOUT_ a credit check or anything other qualifiers. Velocity banking with a LOC is awesome, but the bank _can_ take it away from you for any reason they want (or no reason at all). If you are using an Infinite Banking account, it's _YOURS_ and no one can take it away from you.

Dave Ramsey and Suzi Orman are great for the 20 yr old that has 40 years to build up money. But they really don't know what to say to the 40 50 and 60 yr old with little to no money. Except to say "keep working", lol.

The issue with saying to minimum wage and low income workers/persons.... "make sure you save...", "Make sure you have a __ months savings" is it is unatainmeble most of us especially those on assistance such as disability or retirement/pensions make min wage ($14CAD on Ontario Canada) are litterally living paycheque to paycheque and are a few unpaid sick days away from going into arears on things like rent and essential utilies. Those of us on assistance by mid month have a negitive or $0 balance.... We cannot say "No, I am not going to have that vacation, No I am not going to buy a 100 inch 4K TV, I am not going to have mcdonalds as a treat to save $10 buck this month..." "We are usually saying OK I cannot get gorceries this week so I can PAY MY RENT!!!"

Would you trust someone that doesn't follow their own advice? The truth is she's out of touch with the average wage earner because of her wealth. Her advice will only make you average not wealthy because she didn't get wealthy by following her own advice. Oprah made her famous that's how she made her money.

BECAUSE “by NATURE” this generation didn’t pay attention doesn’t make Miss Orman wrong and you right but I do understand telling people NOW what to do, hopefully they listen? But most importantly.. people TODAY should be paying attention to: “The Abraham Accords” and reading their Bible.. Then they’ll know what’s REALLY going on😕🥺🤫🤔

@@dretrades2 Advice does not have to be great to work. Many times, something is better than nothing. Dave Ramsey is an example of that. I think the debt snowball is plain crazy. The debt avalanche is way better financially. However, for many, the debt snowball works.
