Thank you for being in touch with reality, Garrett. This is just another reason to love your channel! We are average homeowners with an average home. My husband earns a decent paycheck but with four children to raise and educate (plus my own return to college), we've never had a big interior design budget. We do everything ourselves, from painting to repair to replacement of plumbing and light fixtures. I sew my own pillow covers and curtains, refinish used furniture, plus we added tile to a bathroom ourselves. I recently taught myself to use a miter saw so that I could frame out my windows, add chair rails in my dining room and powder room, and build frames for our builder-grade bathroom mirrors. After watching one of your videos I was inspired to learn enough carpentry in order to close up the empty spaces above our kitchen cupboards. It turned out great, so thanks for the idea. As a result of my efforts and your good advice, I have a beautiful and comfortable home that I am proud of...and my husband will be able to afford retirement too, lol.

Hello 👋 I made it! I would love to paint my kitchen cabinets but I’m a bit hesitant that was the original plan when I remodeled my kitchen but I’ve grown to love the dark wood so I’m going to just leave them alone 😊

I had to redo my flooring after my stroke. Had to get rid of the carpeting. I wanted hardwood flooring and one of my choices was that awful gray hardwood. Yuck! I’ll keep my dark brown flooring. 😁

Question about KZbin. Do views count at first click or do you need to watch entire video? I watch every second btw 😊
@GarrettLeChic2 күн бұрын
It's a combination of metrics actually, views count at first click but KZbin's algorithm also looks at view duration and click through rate, so how likely are you to click, if you click and how long you watch for. I appreciate very second you watch for, and thank you for enjoying the content I make!
@ginalombardi25072 күн бұрын
First click is good, but the algorithm is crafty. Best is to watch it all at regular speed. Less “points” when you speed it up or only watch part of it.

All the houses in my neighborhood were built between 1919 15. So they’re all different. But there is one about six houses down that is kind of the mirror image of mine. So of course when it went on sale, I had to go look at it :-) and I got some ideas. 10 years later, I was able to use a couple of those ideas when I renovated my home. If I lived in one of those neighborhoods with track houses, I would definitely be getting to know my neighbor neighbors so I could see what their houses look like.😜
@nogames89822 күн бұрын
Thank you for pointing out that sometimes people have to wait 15 years or more to make a renovation in their house. Major renovations anyway. I lived in my house literally 20 years before I did a major renovation. And even then it was mostly cosmetic. Flooring, paint, etc. Well, I did got the kitchen and the bathroom so I guess that wasn’t minor but I was still living with it for 20 years before I did it. And I don’t plan on ever doing it again!

OMGosh!! Ardin is the cutest pup ever Garrett!! I'm afraid I have to say, I am definitely not fond of any of the grey and/or laminated looking finishes in the new buildings . They look cheap and totally tacky imo. I wish builders would bring back simple looking nice traditional finishes instead of the cheapest, tacky looks they are offering now for a TON of $$$. Thank you Garrett!- Love and kisses to sweet Ardin-Pooh!

Tile from Mercury Mosaics with a small craftsman design along with 3×8 deco white tile. House is 1915. Keeping it bungalow style :) Flooring is a Coretec dark wood 30mil LVT (dog rescuer)

I can’t cover everything aspect of a topic or we would have videos that are way to long. I’m glad to help you with that, and you’re welcome to book a virtual consultation with me so I can see the space in question and give intelligent opinions to a very specific situation. @GarrettLaChic this topic can be a whole series and ill watch every minute of every video if you use real world examples and walk us through good ideas and poor ideas and why they work or don't. Maybe your viewers send you photos for advice. If you have their permission, i would love to see you work thru, with an app, what kinds of changes make what types of impact.

Hi Garrett, I still love grey. I hear a lot of decorators saying its out, but in most cases I still like it. I think its a neutral. I don't like grey wood floors, but I like some of the floor tiles and grey couch fabrics. White is my first choice. BTW, many of the pic's you posted today had grey in them LOL... your new pup is so cute !
