My father watched Pele and Garrincha play. I come from a football family my father played for Fluminense, Palmeiras, and some other clubs, my cousins play professionally in England and I played for Sao Caetano when was younger. My father always said that Pele is better plus most people from the time said Pele was better. Also there is a huge rivalry between Rio and Sao Paulo usually people from Rio favor Garrincha over Pele because they are very proud and Pele became famous playing for Santos in the coast of Sao Paulo. Gosh, I guess people are very passionate about this subject. For me, if Garrincha would have not been such a mess off the field, his on the field accomplishments would have been given the respect they deserved. Garrinchia was the workhorse and mastermind of all those great Brazilian teams. Pele was incredible, but for my money, I would have taken Garrincha (as long as his team was playing in a dry or prohibition town).

People only remember the goal scorers, that's why they're bound to say Pele. But when Pele was injured in 82', Garrincha led the team. Pele always had great players around him, many pundits/ex-players have all said Brazil, during Pele's era, could have won all those trophies with/without Pele, but people only remember the goal scorers. That's how it is.

That is actually wrong, Pele was injured in 1962 in Chile, and the guy who covered for him was Vava who is considered one of the greats, he scored some amazing goals. Watch the highlights of 1958 and you will see who is better, Garrincha and Pele were young and Pele was superb

Both were totally different players. Garrincha was a far better winger than Ronaldinho ever was. Pele was a natural false 9. You cannot compare them because they both did different things. Garrincha was very "Maradona" like in a sense because he took a team and single handed won a world cup with it when Pele got injured. At the end of the day both players were both the best in there position's there ever was and like Pele said when we played together we never lost.

Garrincha was the best football player of all time. I mean he just was the best. There's different ways you can compare football players and which one is the best. Garrincha is extreme in many different categories used in football that's why I choose Garrincha. But others choose Pele because of their arrogance only thinking about striking and scoring. Dribbling is important too. In goal scoring, Pele was the legend. In *fancy* goal scoring, Ibrahimovic was the legend and I admire Ibrahimovic more than Pele as a footballer. He was just a better player to me when I watched their games on KZbin. Brazil is my favorite football team, and I was very sad that Neymar got injured and T. Silva got a 1-game suspension because since Neymar got injured in their game versus Colombia, he let Brazil lose to Germany by 6 goals. Brazil would've lost anyway, but not by 6 points! Neymar let his team down. The Brazilian team back then was amazing. You couldn't defeat them. When there was Ronaldinho, Ronaldo, and Rivaldo playing on one team, all the Brazilian legends in one, they were undefeatable. Now the only good player on Brazil is Neymar JR and he got injured so now Brazil is over. In the FIFA World Cup 2018, Neymar will hopefully and most likely be able to play. If not, I hope some player from a different team like Germany switches to Brazil. I really want them to get far into the 2018 World Cup. I want either Italy or Germany to win the cup, but I want Brazil to get really far.
