I think that humans naturally like to make rules for themselves and control one another. If we can get past that and stop trying to make systems for ourselves racism will die. We aren't gods there is only one true god but we keep thinking we are. Love the video!

Jesse Dollemore suggested I check you out. You are excellent, bro. I did, however, notice how low your subs were. I would just suggest you put out more podcasts. Jesse Dollemore puts out a podcast almost one per day. If you did that, I would bet that your subs would increase dramatically. Goid luck bro.

Ellis Island welcomed peoples from European countries and they were referred to by their countries' names, i.e. Italians, Portuguese, Spaniards, etc. They refused to attach those same courtesies to Africans and others of the darker complexion. Thus, a system was put into place dividing persons by color, black or white! I'd like to plug Isabel Wilkerson's gem, "Caste".

God?? Ooh oh, I didn’t know that about garrison. Oh well, he still makes thoughtful content and I agree with his politic.
@MrFittedswagАй бұрын
This is the first time that I've ever thought about the phrase "politically correct" really being used by racist factions of certain folks because they always seem like they're the ones who complain about that when in actuality they're using political correctness to perpetuate racism

I agree racism and discrimination will never go away, worldwide. People seem to always want to make themselves feel better by putting others down. I say worldwide because I have seen many jaw dropping moments when humans turn on fellow humans in a very demeaning way--for whatever reason they can come up with. It could be about the color of your skin, your religion or even crazier the branch of your religion. As mind blowing as it can be, I know of a situation where a group of deacons split almost evenly on how their church should be run and each half turned against the other half, plotting against each other?! Even where race and religion are the same, it can become about the province or area of a country you are from, analogous to saying s/he comes from the wrong side of the tracks. As long as someone, anyone groups people and describes those people in a way to promote the idea that it is okay to treat that group differently because they are inferior or a threat you will have bigotry and discrimination. Seldom do I know someone who for any length of time that does not eventually say something about a group of people in a disparaging way. Not necessarily mean spirited, yet, but they are making a statement that all of whatever group acts in this way--which is always, 100% wrong and discriminatory. And I agree that the title does not match the conversation.

great conversation! highly recommend to anyone interested on the topic of racism and false superiority to read the book Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents by Isabel Wilkerson. Also see Ava DuVernay's movie, based on the book, Origin!

Has everyone just decided being mean is helping mankind?
@laceybanter59376 ай бұрын
No. They didn't just decide it. They have always been mean. And of course it doesn't help anything.

As racism becomes less and less present - if it is even present at all anymore - the amount of talk about racism is at an all time high. How many fake hate crimes have been uncovered vs how many real crimes?
