As well after grunts questline on tuchanka I believe garrus makes another remark about krogan women. Then finally as Mordin and Garrus seem to be in good standing if you ask Mordin in the same game it only makes sense that he'd try to do his homie Garrus a solid considering Mordin is a methodical man that does everything with a purpose. Cannot readily prove that's what the writers intended but that's what exists in my head cannon lol.

Turian and Quarian inter-species relationships are a common thing. They even made a movie about it "Fleet and Flotilla". It is also convenient as both species can eat the same food and can have an easier time when it comes to physical contact.

What I meant by "they can eat the same things" is that Turians and Quarians are one of the few species that can't eat what the other species eat because it is toxic to them. Turians and Quarians have similar chemistry since the ecosystem of their planets evolved with similar DNA proteins. That's why they can eat each other's foods without problem.
