Saw him in June. Amazing show. I've been listening since he first hit radio play decades ago. He finished the concert and then came out by himself with a guitar and played another hour taking requests from signs people had brought. The energy and quality of his performance is still top notch.

He does that every show. He calls it house cleaning. Definitely the highlight of the show

I am from Oklahoma and Garth is from here as well….we are quite proud of Garth. It has been said that he was a “Queen” fan and, specifically, a Freddie Mercury fan. If you watch enough of his live performances you totally get the connection. He is a showman, he interacts with his audience and he puts on a fantastic show. Just like Freddie and Queen he is fantastic live. 💗

I lived in SW Oklahoma and I was told he had a house on the lake (Lugert) for awhile. We thought about taking the boat out in that direction but I'm sure that would not have ended the way we had hoped hahaha 😂

Almost all of these musicians, including the background singers, are still with him on tour in 2022. I think that says a ton about who he is as a person

Betsy (bass and his sister) passed away from cancer. She left the band not long after Standing Outside the Fire. James (lead guitar and congas) left when G retired. Ty England came back for most of the stadium tour but didn't do the arena tour. Dave Gant (keys, fiddle and md) and Mike Palmer (drums) are still with him to this day. Jimmy Mattingly took over fiddle in 95 from Central Park to now

What makes Garth great is that his songs are often even better live than they are in the studio which makes him one of the best live performers ever. To understand the full Garth experience, see if you can find video of the concert he gave at a sold out University of Notre Dame stadium in 2018 that was broadcast on CBS television.

He looks young there because back in the 90s he was very very popular. And that's where those songs are from. You ought to see if you can get the version with Billy Joel and Garth in New York City Live as he did a free concert. And listen to the one the name of the song is ain't going down to the sun comes up. It's a fun song and he really gets into it. A lot of times at work I'll get singing that one and I'll do just like he did on stage. People look at me they start laughing and smiling and they said Todd your crazy. But I'm the only one that does it kind of all the people we have. That's about 50 some people.

Garth was huge in country back in the 90's. You'll probably also hear about the whole 'Chris Gaines' thing. Garth made a soundtrack for a movie about a character named Chris Gaines. He released the album, performing as Chris, but the movie got canned, so he was left with this oddball album out there.

LATE COMMENT: Garth Brooks' popularity, fame and fortune is just indescribable. It was a big surprise when he "retired" at the top of his game. Guess if making more money than you could ever spend, you can. As for making money yourself, there was an episode of the Beverly Hillbillies that a classical violinist found out how much money a country fiddle player made and quickly decided to switch genres.
@artursandwich19742 жыл бұрын
That is a cut version of the song it didn't have a very cool bridge that it has on the album. By the way "in pieces" is really one of the best albums ever made in pop music. It's got inspiration, nostalgia, tragedy, humor, crime, and adventure - all songs are great, really great

His song list of great instant classic songs is insane. He could've gone further but chose to be with his family instead of continuing with his career. He came back couple years ago. I'd suggest investing more of his songs.

Garth has a degree in marketing. That combine with his long time Manger at Asacp who left asap to focus on working with Garth in his on publishing marketing company introducing him to the right people are reasons he is what he is. He did not buy or demand his way into the industry. One of his biggest hits is a song called the dance which was written by Tony Arata. Who he met at the Bluebird Cafe. He was already touring when he got thr record deal.

Garth Brooks single handedly kicked off the mainstream county career of Chris Ledeaux just by mentioning him in his first song. "A worn out tape of Chris Ledeaux, lonely women and bad booze seem to be the only friends I've left at all." At that point, Chris Ledeaux was a niche country artist that was popular amongst the rodeo crowed. After, his career blew up and he was really popular.

did ya know... Seventy-seven (≈75%) of Garth Brooks' recorded songs have been duets with his wife, Trisha Yearwood. He will not "love song duet" with anyone else. Just about any of his songs would be great choices for another reaction video. "Callin' Baton Rouge" Live is a great example of Garth, entertainer of the yearssss. And "If Tomorrow Never Comes", he co-wrote and made him tear up. Love your channel, your positive forward thinking and your smiles.)

Garth has chops and hits and knows how to put on a great live show. But I think his biggest asset was an unflappable belief that he is a star. You couldn’t tell that man nothing. He knew he was going to be famous.

I’m from the south. Garth brooks is on par with Michael Jackson. They’re entertainers. I went to a Garth show once and it wasn’t country, it was a ‘every’ genre jam session. Garth is one of the best entertainers in the world. He decided to stop touring because he had young children.
