Dedicated this song to my husband for our first dance as husband and wife. I would have (and sometimes felt as I had) gone to the ends of the earth for him, for almost 19 yrs and would do it all again! Tragically and traumatically, a month ago today, I came home and found him passed away from a heart attack. My life will never be the same and my heart forever broken! I love you baby forever and I hope I can still make you feel my love! xoxoxo

I promised to love her til the day i day and then some, how does someone move on. I still cant say her name without getting choked up. Ladies if your not loved and treated like the only woman in the world, you should be. there might come a day when i meet someone but there only be one her forever...

Paul, two friends of mine are married to each other. He lost his first wife to cancer, also. He still loves her, misses her and even still mourns her, but his new wife is very understanding. She knows he loves her also. She knows his devotion is toward her now. She loves him and he loves her and they have a wonderful life together. My point is, to find love again isn't to deny your love to your wife, it is to acknowledge the need to keep living while you are still here.

Paul I'm so very sorry for you. The greatest gift we are ever given is to love truly deeply and be loved. As a woman in remission if I ever was taken from this world I would want my husband to find love again. I wouldn't want the end of my life to be the end of his too. He could most honor my memory by living life to the fullest. God bless you and ease your pain.

This is the version of the song to listen to if you really want to just appreciate the song as a work of art. Bob Dylan’s own version is intense and almost too raw: when he sings it it’s obvious the situation is hopeless, he’s not going to get the girl, but he’s going to sing to her anyway because his love for her is all he’s got. It’s the version you listen to at 3 am while nursing a broken heart. Billy Joel turns the song into an epic; it’s the version you dance to at a wedding, because it tells the story of all the risks you took on your way to winning your true love. Adele’s version combines a bit of all three approaches and has proven to be the most popular, which is understandable. All four versions are great but at the end of the day I will pick Garth’s version as the best because he gets out of the way of the song (in a way even Dylan himself couldn’t do) and lets it speak for itself, not as drama, but as pure poetry.

Lyric: When the rain is blowing in your face, and the whole world is on your case, I could offer you a warm embrace to make you feel my love. When the evening shadows and the stars appear, and there is no one there to dry your tears, I could hold you for a million years to make you feel my love. I know you haven't made your mind up yet, but I would never do you wrong. I've known it from the moment that we met, no doubt in my mind where you belong. I'd go hungry; I'd go black and blue, I'd go crawling down the avenue. No, there's nothing that I wouldn't do to make you feel my love. The storms are raging on the rolling sea and on the highway of regret. Though winds of change are throwing wild and free, you ain't seen nothing like me yet. I could make you happy, make your dreams come true. Nothing that I wouldn't do. Go to the ends of the Earth for you, to make you feel my love

This is virtually the first time I've heard Garth cover this song. I'm not the greatest country music fan. Some songs I like, some I love, most I could take a hard pass on, but this is superb! His interpretation on guitar coupled with his voice makes him the perfect artist to cover such an emotional song. It's my loss that I lost twenty years of being able to listen to Garth sing it. How can i keep coming back to this song without it getting an earworm/.. Listened to this for dozens of times and it never gets old. He really owns this song.. Cant go back to Dylan anymore now. When he sings the lines/notes : The storms are raging on the rolling sea: Soo good..

I've learnt this song this afternoon and I can't stop singing it and I haven't got tied of it yet. On a par with Adele. What a tear jerker.

My wife and I used this song in our wedding ceremony, that was 23 years ago! Such a beautiful song, and the way Garth sings it is my favorite version.

We just hit 23 years on 21st. I wanted this to be our wedding song, but she didn’t like the part where he sings “I know you haven’t made your mind up yet…”. We went with Shania Twain “From This Moment”. I can’t stand that song now, and still love this one. Oh well….congrats to you both!

Well have to admit. Not s huge Garth guy. I also know he is an awesome preformer and a dang good vocalist. But Im an old rocker VH, Led Zeppelin, ect. I have always like a lot of his work but I got my fill of Friends in Low Places, ect. But I came across this today actually by accident, I play music and stay pretty busy and was looking to add a couple old Dylan songs to a set. Wow old Garth put his stamp on this one and his guitar playing is spot on and it just made the his version even more powerful and absolutely flawless. I wish I could hear him pull out a few more unplugged covers. I'm a fan now!!!!

Great honest comment. Enjoyed it. All the best to you. Love old rock. Lived it in the 60's, 70's and 80, till it died out in the 90's. A big Who and Zeppelin fan. Saw the Who in the early 80's. Super. Best of all of my Rock concerts next to ZZTop. I enjoy Garth Brooks. "Last Dance" from him will be played at my funeral which will be in the near future. Life goes quick. Enjoy everyday. Take care and all the best to you.

I'm tearing up a little because my mom really loved Garth Brooks and she really loved this song. She passed away when I was 17 and i just love his cover of this song. I remember dancing with my mom to this song and I miss her so much. She is going to be gone 8 years this year on December 27 and i just have the best memories listening to Garth Brooks
