You know as much as it sucks this show never got a second season, it actually fits the narrative. It'd been harder and harder to explain the episodes the longer it went on. Ending it like this (complete with kind of a nice wrap up moment) fits the concept kind of perfectly. The only tragedy is that in place of the Darkplace timeslot after it was canceled they didn't air a re-run of Who's the Boss.

Everything is firing on all cylinders in terms of the low budget parody and the insanity of the fake interviews I love how blatantly misogynistic the show’s writing is, but Garth insists on how progressive Liz’s role is. It’s legit perfect. This show is a comedy masterpiece
