Great interview, Gary telling it how it is, particularly about the depth of talent in the new generation of players.

for him its probably better not practicing as mad as that seems but he knows what works and what doesnt, practicing more could go negative and make him fall out of love with darts

Littler is notoriously someone who doesn’t practise a lot either. I feel practising more would get negative returns for these ridiculously talented players

actually, i am a huge fan of Gary, but there are two other players that are pure natural shooters Smith and Beaton. Gary to me is one of the most mechanical natural player, along with bunting. Huge difference. Littler is a different style player with massive natural abilities. Humpries crosses with Mike and Beaton as a reputative natural player. MVG is a another reputative player but i think he leans in too much.

Its clearly Littler.
@oogabooga233718 күн бұрын
not really, littler has been playing since the age of 2 so hes already been playing for well over a decade so you cant tell how much of his skill is from talent Garys first time ever throwing darts he was hitting 140s and 180s, and then was beating the best professionals without practicing
@user-rf8mc8rg9v17 күн бұрын
Pretty sue that people who are saying littler are people who just start watching darts… I guess everyone is forgetting Lewis for example
@andyanger027417 күн бұрын
@user-rf8mc8rg9v exactly what I was thinking. Lewis by a mile. You have to be naturally gifted at doubles as well as 180s
@user-rf8mc8rg9v17 күн бұрын
@@andyanger0274 true. All people see now is littler littler littler. As Gary says: mvg was roughly the same at that age just way less social media. Littler is a huge talent but what if he completely lost the plot?
@oogabooga233717 күн бұрын
@@andyanger0274 id say in just terms of picking up a dart and playing the best its anderson, but being able to deal with pressure and doing it in big tournaments its lewis. Gary took years to win the worlds, where as lewis did it just a couple years after first even playing darts. Littler is definitely talented in terms of playing in the big tournaments but like i said its hard to know skill wise since hes been playing since he was a baby

Never does anything in TV events anymore ; a 2 time world champ sure and always a big scorer but doesn't have the bottle at the business end of TV events now. EDIT - (For the intellectually bankrupt over sensitive type) Anderson's a legend of the game but my point is that , at 53 , I don't believe he has what it takes to win a TV major ; age comes to us all , its hard to hold your nerve when you're that age and thats based on no appearances in a TV final for 4 years , hardly an unsubstantiated POV. Should he make the final or win it this week I'll have got it wrong!

@@adamcalder294 it’s super necessary tho you can’t be well below average and call someone who’s literally one of the top 3 in the world on current form and a 2 time back to back world champ a bottler. So again absolutely necessary

@@hasbullah9560 What kind of average is necessary in order to be able to make factual observations? Would you agree with John Part if he made a similar comment?
@hasbullah956017 күн бұрын
@@adamcalder294 someone hitting 95-105 consistently or someone who’s been there and done it would be in a position to call a 2 time world champ a bottler someone who is little more than a part timer but still named as one of the best currently and will be in everyone’s all time top 5 a bottler.

Eric Bristow was the most naturally gifted darts player, better than Gary Anderson.
