I have watched speedway for 50 ,years and never thought Havvy received the credit he deserved, he was the complete package really he could gate, could pass the best from the back, and seldom got passed when he got his nose in front. I must admit I was surprised when he won the world title on his debut but my nephew and niece were convinced he would, we used to travel to Bradford every Saturday night from Hull to watch the Dukes. Gary was extremely quick in all the major meetings , such a shame his career finished with very serious injuries.I wish him well in whatever he is doing now and he should be very proud he can say he became Champion of the World.....

Speaking as a Dukes fan, Havvy winning The world speedway championship was a massive boost for our track having never had a world champion before . ❤❤❤❤❤❤

I was there, great night and great Win. Done well to ride after heat 7. Well done to Wroclaw Fire Dept and track staff for getting for meeting restarted. Fastest rider all season, Commonwealth final at Kings Lynn was great with Lightning around track.
