Gary Kubiak Interview On CJ Stroud, DeMeco Ryans, Slowik, Inducting Andre Johnson To HOF & More!

The Locker Room With Landry Locker

14 күн бұрын

Former Texans head coach and one of the most impactful men in the figures, Gary Kubiak, joins The Locker Room to discuss many things including:
- The honor of inducting Andre Johnson into the Hall Of Fame.
- His current life as a man in high demand and father of two NFL coaches.
- The second-year challenges of DeMeco and Slowik.
- His relationship with DeMeco
- The adjustment to QB's getting more input from coaching POV.
- CJ Stroud thoughts
- The Houston media GOAT
- More
Side Note: This was a BlueTooth interview because he was on the go and our technology chemistry is worse than Brock Osweiler's chemistry with BOB after Kubiak got him paid. Always fun to take to coach regardless.

Kubiak was my favorite Texans coach until DeMeco took over. Going back to the Kubiak/Shanahan system is one of the most important reasons we’re on an upward trend! 🤘

Gary Kubiak set the bar for coaches to follow here in Houston. He gave us our first taste of playoff football, and changed the look of this franchise. The pairing of Kubes and Wade Phillips was like bringing together an All Houston, all time coaches tree. Were it not for his health, him and Wade might have brought a Super Bowl to H-Town. He took a struggling expansion franchise here and made us a perennial playoff team and division winner. His contributions definitely make him deserving of being inducted into the Texans Ring of Honor. Landry, get Stoots and the 610 crew and push the narrative! Y’all could make it happen!

Never forget that Kubiak passed on Peyton Manning when he wanted to come here (in favor of Matt freaking Schaub) then went to Denver and won a Super Bowl with Manning. If that didn’t make you at least slightly angry you weren’t paying attention.

Kubiak did want him in Houston, Bob McNair didn't because he didn't want to take the risk, but if he did would of had 1 already which still bothers me...

This is where you're at your best, Landry. Interviewing asking questions no one wants to ask in an entertaining way. You're also at your best on ribbing your co hosts. Keep doing what you're doing. My aunt couldn't stand you at first til I told her give you a shot and now she following you

Good ole kub by far the best coach in franchise history even though as a team he had alot of success I did give him alot of criticism we could've had Brees and then Peyton manning he chose to stick with Matt Schaub we could've been went to a superbowl but good to see coach enjoying his retirement

Makes sense. Kubiak was a good coach who was able to get pedestrian qbs to play at an all pro level. Johnson's career numbers would have been even more impressive with a quality qb. I know matt schaub had 3 great years but he was never a top qb

After Slowik leaves, we need Kubs to be ready to come coach the offense. People forget how prolific the offense was, and he did it with Schaub.
