Shankland not for me too much risk involved with his age bring concerns in his recovery time if injuries were too occur ? Also the over all cost of bring the Hearts striker to Celtic if Shankland and Hearts were to entertain a offer from Celtic? Celtic are in a good position on and off the park for the SPFL Title race. And may find better value or quality for the money that it would take to entice Shankland to Celtic Park. What would be the final tally fee including the buying, signing and wages that would cost the club overall for his contract period of time? However, Shankland would offer considerable experience with him applying his trade within the SPFL playing his striker role with numerous SPFL teams. He is also a Scottish international Player. For me Shankland is a player Sevco should be looking to sign. A experienced professional with a possibility of high attributes if he stays injury free? But little return on sell on value due to age, concerns? Martin O'Neil when manager at Celtic had no choice but to sign experienced players, to stop the dominance of our rivals. Fine well knowing that there was not going to be any real sell on value. Due to players being experienced senior professional football players signed at that period of time by Celtic. It was all about stopping The Rangers dominance hold they had over the SPFL, which was down to illegal usage of funds luring players to Ibrox. Still scratching my head as to why they have not been stripped of those dodgy titles that they only won due to cheating? Anyway, my point is. Is Shankland the missing link needed for Celtic to move to the next level in regards to progressing to the Champions League qualification stages of the prestige competition. For me no but if Celtic think Shankland is the answer. Well for me Celtic should have signed him in the last window for the start of the Champions League Group Stage of the competition? As looking at the groups league table. It's looking like it's going to take 14 to 15 points to finish in the top 8. Yeah, for me we are in a good position for a play off spot. But could be in a better position for a top 8 finish, guaranteeing entry into the next stage of the Champions League. However, it is still possible to win those 14 to 15 points needed in my opinion to finish in the top 8. It's the same old Celtic Board waiting to see where the chips fall resulting into panic or forced buys. When we had the previous transfer window to address those later concerns. The only team that should be looking to buy forced panic senior football professionals with little to no sell on value, is Sevco. As they need a quick expensive fix that only senior experienced professionals can bring to a club, in order to stop US. Not us panic buying players to try and keep our Champions League dream alive. Granted the dreams not dead yet, but the business should have been concluded before the start of the competition. It's poor visionary which brings under achievement to our club in regards to progression. The Board needs to stop blinking. Don't get me wrong am not saying the Board have done a bad job, as they have put the Club in a strong position. Sometimes they just need to take the breaks off and hit the accelerator in regards to signing quality players at the correct time. HH
