This was THE best performance of this song, period. GM's voice was in perfect form, he held his notes (you could tell that he struggled with breath control in Montreux) perfectly... Solos on point, and the mix of guitar and keys is excellent.

I was actually there as a 10 year old with my 19 year old sister and her headbangin friends lol :) we travelled from southern sweden to the capital for this. She also took me to a Pantera concert Vulgar display of power :). Gary moore is like in my memory forever.

I used to have a VHS copy of this show. I got rid of it thinking I would find a DVD version. I have the 2 Montreaux concerts and the Jimi Hendrix tribute concert. Gary Moore was always backed up by great musicians. He also did some collabs with Thin Lizzy, Phil Lynott, Jack Bruce, Ozzy Osbourne and George Harrison. I still listen to his albums from start to finish. He is one of my favorite guitar players. I suggest you watch Gary Moore and Phil Lynott "Out in the Fields". Tommy Johansson also uploaded another Gary Moore cover song. I'm gonna check it out.

I gather that every day on the birthday of Philip Lynett in January, Tommy and friends gather under the name of Wild Frontier and others, and jam out Gary Moore music . If I'm informed correctly this performance was what Tommy saw at age 9 and made him pick up a guitar.

I believe Tommy also got one of those Charvels in his collection? Not sure if it was one of Garys or same model?

@@andreaspedersen3952 Tommy had 2 replicas of Garys built to him by a friend. The red/white one and a white one that he has used for several years. Now he has obtained an original Gary guitar as well, the white one, that he has used in his latest Gary covers.

Gary Moore is the reason Tommy Johansson plays the same Charvel guitars. If you really want to hear an incredible guitar solo you should watch Empty Rooms from the same show.

Nice update to a 17th century traditional English song, my own particular favourite version is by John Tams for the TV series Sharpe

Joel, thanks for sharing your Gary Moore experience. Phenomenal composer, guitarist, vocalist & performer. For those that want to see this performance with audio in sync with video ... kzbin.info/www/bejne/kJmyiXdta7OahLc (I am tormented by such u2b peculiarities. Where is the "sync to video - slider" to correct it ??)
