In my opinion, the most emotional guitar player ever. He could make you feel his pain. Gary’s guitar sings, screams, and cries. So does my heart 😎

Always loved Gary Moore. Saw him twice, once with Thin Lizzy in the '70;s then solo in the mid 80's. Have 8 albums with him on, Lizzy, Colosseum II and solo stuff and still play them regularly. Despite his relative success I still think he was hugely underrated. He had all bases covered as a guitarist, soft blue/ballards, rock, heavy rock and shredding. Although not at his best on this video, his vocals were damn good too. He started out with Skid Row. Good selection David!

Gary was simply the best guitarist ever to walk this earth! I was fortunate enough to see him live more times than I can honestly remember. No one, and I mean nobody one played with so much feeling and passion, it touches your soul. Coincidentally, it is very fitting that you should react to Gary as 6th Feb is the anniversary of his death, 11 years ago. Still miss him so much. Some information for you about Parisienne Walkways. Gary actually wrote this as an instrumental but when he played the tune to his friend Phil Lynott, Phil said that it had a kind of French feeling to it and that he would write some lyrics to it. It actually has a kind of double meaning to it. The opening line in the song is "I remember Paris in '49". The fact is that Phil was born in 1949 and his father's (whom he didn't meet until many years later) surname was Parris! Gary and Phil recorded it for Gary's album Back On The Streets and it was released as a single in 1979 and reached No.8 in the UK charts. I would strongly suggest that you check out Gary Moore The Messiah Will Come Again Live. Link below: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bZyTaJ1tgch_p9k You will honestly see the best guitar playing ever! You will not be disappointed I promise! Even if you don't react to it (obviously I hope that you will), treat yourselves, it is truly amazing. A true guitar master at work! Kindest regards to you from England. Stay safe and take care. 😊😎🎸

I think it's a rare breed of so-called guitar heroes whose shows are not primarily a sausage-fest. Pyrotechnics without blowing shit up. Agreed, Sifa, "lover's shredding". His soulful vocals always hit me too. First became aware of him as having done stints in Thin Lizzy and Coliseum. On his own is another thing altogether. 'Still Got the Blues' is primo GM too.

Utterly incredible. At the end Gary plays a few bars of traditional Irish tune O'Neill's March. This might be in homage, just might, to Johnny Fean of Horslips. Another mighty Irish guitarist.O'Neill's March was the basis of Dearg Doom, the anthemic track from Horslips Tain album. Alternatively, like Rory Gallagher did, maybe a nod to his roots.

Respect to all the other great guitarists, but Gary was something else. You often hear that with those guys the guitar is the extension of them, I’m pretty sure with Gary that he was the extension of the guitar, you could see that in almost every note he played! For me he will always be the greatest! If you want to see that what I just said to confirm try “The Messiah will come again” from Montreaux as well, but from 1990. It’s originally from Roy Buchanan, but he made this song something very very special! Absolute epic! Otherwise try my personal favorite song in my favorite version, “Empty Rooms” Live 1987 in Stockholm, just the beautiful intro is worth the time! RIP Gary!
