Not many react to the lyrics aswell as the guitar solo is so powerfull. But it is the lyrics and the guitar solo that meet eachother that makes this song so freaking beautifull, that i get instant tears in my eyes all the time when i listen to the song, because the message is so clear and we all have been there at some point. ( the road that leads to pain )

Very true. What I imagine when I listen to this song is taking some time, reminiscing the past, walking alone in the boulevard in autumn in the past time (the '80s). 😌

Hi Tysheen, you're a beautiful person. Before saying anything else, I feel I should declare a personal interest. Gary was my uncle. Sadly, he sailed for the shores of heaven just over 10 years ago now, but we all still miss him, and we all still love him. Other than my passion for music in general, and my love of the (Mississippi) delta blues in particular, I'm not really sure why the _'KZbin Pixies'_ directed me here, but here I am, and here I'll subscribe! You clearly saw, or rather _heard_ straight through our Gary's music, especially the emotions he used to _speak of_ through his guitars. Assuming you really *don't* listen to music before creating your videos, a lot of people don't have the depth of understanding or perception which you seemed to show. Gary didn't have an easy childhood to say the least, nor did his sister (our mammy). We're all from the same government housing, just on the outskirts of Belfast in Northern Ireland. Or what I think they call _'the projects'_ in America? Then he was always up to mischief as a teenager, but just little things. The stuff that really did nobody any harm. Even now looking back, I still think his guitar playing and passion was a true reflection of his life, or at least the first 30 years of it anyway. It can still make me weep sometimes, and I'm a big strappin' lad these days! You should also have a listen to _'Parisienne Walkways'_ by Gary, and a few others I could recommend. Anyway, best wishes from Northern Ireland, Tysheen, and thank you for being the person you are. God bless.

@@jrayv Thanks for taking the time to say so mate. I genuinely appreciate it. Regarding Tysheen, and to be fair, I suppose we all act and react differently as individuals. I didn't lose any sleep anyway so don't worry mate! lol. So you were obviously a loyal fan of uncle Gary's, which is always great to hear. so thanks for that too. As you probably know, he *absolutely loved* California, and kept an apartment at a place called _"Hermosa Beach",_ and a boat in the marina at _"Redondo Beach",_ both for several years. That would have been from about 1984/85 onward, when he and Phil (Lynott) had fallen out with each other... again! lol. It wasn't funny (at all) at the time, but it seemed like the pair of them were determined to live as far from each other as was geographically possible.And everytime Phil flew into Heathrow, Gary would fly out to Cork or California, and _vice versa._ And that was just to give them both a 100% guarantee that they'd never accidentally bump into each other. Because of course, they always used to frequent the same clubs, pubs and bars in whichever city they were in at the time. In reality, our mam (Gary's older sister), should have just banged their heads together to try and knock a bit of sense into the pair of them. But anyway, I'm rambling on. Sorry about that JRV! Stay healthy and have a goodun mate.

I’m a guitar player and I thank Northern Ireland every time I hear Gary’s spectacular singing and guitar playing. I was a fan of his during his Skid Row years as well as his work with Thin Litzy. He will always be my favorite guitar player, that will never change. Your Uncle Gary was truly one of a kind.

In my opinion, no-one could make a guitar sing the way Gary could. So many amazing guitarists out there, but for me, Gary Moore edges out the rest with the tone and emotion of his playing. If you want to hear a piece where the guitar does all of the singing check out his rendition of The Messiah Will Come Again - Live. It's sublime.

This right here. He often gets overlooked because he's less flamboyant, less flashy than, say, SRV. But to me Gary Moore was IT. He had it all and he could play any style he wanted to and go toe to toe with any given player in it. True mastery of the instrument.
@erict9563 жыл бұрын
Couldn't agree more, Joe Bonamassa comes close but Gary leaves not just his blood sweat and tears on the stage but his whole soul and that guitar pierces your very heart like nothing else could. For me Gary has listened to Duane Eddy, Hank Marvin, B.B. King, Jimi Hendrix, Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Ritchie Blackmore, Rory Gallagher, Jimmy Page and said hold my beer. In short this is the standard.
@saschaschneider63553 жыл бұрын
@@erict956 frankly, I think Bonamassa on his own is pretty bland. Pair him with e.g. Beth Hart and it's a different picture. Gary Moore couldn't be bland even if he tried Bonamassa is a great player but he's almost exclusively playing other people's songs while Gary Moore wrote a lot of stuff, even for a super group like Traveling Wilburys. Bonamassa only plays Blues and Blues Rock, Gary Moore played everything, from Blues over Jazz fusion, Celtic and hard rock to heavy metal. To perfection. Joe Bonamassa may be following Gary's Blues playbook but he isn't remotely in the same league. Comparing both Bonamassa is severely lacking except in the equipment collector category, although I'd argue that Greeny tops every guitar Joe owns

I wish I did not like you so much from watching your previous reactions and, as always, have "liked" this video....however I feared the worst when you paused this masterpiece twice early but thought this lovely lady respects the music and won't interrupt the first guitar "warm-up" solo but you did but then as we all got into it to the main virtuoso solo I thought " there's no way our friend is going to pause this" as it would ruin the flow, continuity, and momentum of this magnificent solo....but, surprisingly, you did, which was disappointing....lol It reminded me many moons ago when my first real girlfriend stayed over and My Darling Mum knocked on the door twice. I'm sure you get the picture..haha
