Let's not forget that this is a piece by Roy Buchanan created in 1972, an excellent underestimated and not very well known blues guitarist that I saw in 1985 at the "new morning" in Paris.

It's good to see a listener who truly appreciates GW. She loves it, and you can tell it. Some listen and are no more than sticks in the mud. By that you know they can't understand a thing about music, much less guitar playing, because they're listening to the all-time greatest ever!

Gary can make his guitar cry soulfully, they might be other guitar players out there who are good , but not as good as Gary. He can make his guitar cry, and that is something else. RIP Gary.

Yes, there's times Gary's playing could bring tears to your eyes. Such an emotive guitarist - a true master of his guitar. He's my favorite guitarist. I cried the day he died. I've not heard another guitarist like him. Thanks for your reaction to this.

I saw Gary live way back in 1990 and this was the last encore he did and the way he did it!! He played with such emotion, passion and also lots of improvisation! No one but Gary Moore could make the guitar sound so sad...when words failed him the guitar spoke for him.

If you really want to start playing guitar be aware that getting even close to that level is a work of decades. Not weeks, not months, not a few years. Decades. With daily playing, sometimes the whole day long. It needs a whole lot of dedication. People talk about talent but talent only gets you so far. The rest is hard hard work and dedication. I mean, if you're only in it for the fun and you don't really expect to become good then 15 minutes a day is OK, else you're looking at multiple hours per day, focused practice and playing. It's also not only playing, it's learning music theory, ear training, rhythm training - and on top of that you need to play with others of a slightly higher skill level. If you start playing the guitar you're in it for the long run

1) I laughed my ass off when he said you can't wait to start playing guitar so you can learn to play like him...good luck with that! 2) Yes he died...broke my heart like you wouldn't believe. 3) No, I doubt his hands cramped up while playing. Over the course of time though...your hands get old. I've been playing 46 years and working construction has taken its toll on my hands...much more than playing guitar. Getting old kinda sucks!

Literalmente gary moore é o exemplo de que a guitarra fazia parte do corpo. Ele deixava seus sentimentos melódico se transportar como uma ponte de duas vias entre o ser humano e o instrumento. Esse é o resultado . O melhor.

If you start practicing right now in about 20 years you might be half way to this. After playing 15, 20 hrs a day every day for years your fingers hands and arms become adapted.

The guitar is nicknamed "Greeny" and is worth over a million dollars. It is currently owned by Kirk Hammett of Metallica.

All the movement on the fretting hand is down to muscle memory from hours of practice and repetition, so that kind of playing won't generally cramp his hand. However, ageing and general wear and tear of the body will come into play in any guitarist's life, just like in any other scenario.

This guitar is the Greeny Les Paul. Gary had it from Peter Green of fleetwood Mac. Now owned by Kirk Hammett of Metallica. Said to be worth in the region of 2 million. The unique sound comes from the upside down and out of phase neck pick up. Amazing guitar.
@saschaschneider6355
@saschaschneider6355 3 жыл бұрын
2 million is what Kirk has paid for it and he said that it was a steal and that he took advantage of the previous owner needing money. It used to get passed around among collectors for "eye watering sums" - which 2 million apparently aren't.

Electric guitars are easy on the fingers. Even with acoustics, your fingers are sore for a week or two, but then they get calloused and tough. You don't hurt after that, as long as you play regularly.
