One of the surprises is how Gary Neville ('Red Nev') has come to impress me greatly, from someone who groaned through Man Utd's domination of the 90s and early 00s. His optimism, enthusiasm to give things a go, opinionated but insightful commentary - he's the first to criticise his old team and brings out the strong opinions in his fellow commentators - and social/political interests have made me see a whole new side to him, and he's as articulate a pundit as we've had. I didn't know he'd collapsed during EURO 2021 and I hope it was just a one-off.
